I figured since the people with low GPA's have their own thread, perhaps I should start one for those of us with GPA's above 3.6. 👍

OVER 3.6 CLUB - OUCH!!!

Hey - more power to you SON!!!

My highest GPA is my Biology GPA - 3.40, so I guess I can't join. But if you were the president of the club, I would love to be the vice-president.

Is that even possible with my kind of GPA? Who knows?

👎 Bite me post *****.

::sniffle:: I USED to be in the 3.6+ club before this past spring semester.. 🙁

Eh...you're only off by 0.10 of a point, you'll get your GPA back up there. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though OK?

Of course....welcome aboard BioGirl361! By the way, what kind of flower is that in your avatar?

I think you should create your own club...dont disrespect yourself by joining this one. 😉

3.65 biatches!

PS this club is kinda offensive 😀

It's no more offensive than us being excluded from the sub-3.0 club because of our GPA's 😉

it's an african violet chimera called "the alps" 🙂
ps. your sig is funny

I guess I'll join too.

Undergrad GPA: 3.86
Masters GPA: 3.85

I thought it was a violet of some sort (I managed my high school's greenhouse for two years so I'm really good with ID'ing plants) but I've never seen a pattern like that before. It's quite interesting.

Welcome aboard QuietGuy

Cows, let it be know officially that I am jealous of your GPA. Welcome aboard!

Ok, Fella's, let's get out the measuring tapes, and separate the boys from the men!

I don't think most of the people on this thread need any ego boost...from the looks of things, over half of us are already arrogant enough to be surgeons (including myself)...oh and I'm def in on this club...3.82 GPA

There is definately a positive correlation between arrogance/ignorance/egotisticalness (is that a word) among people with higher GPA's. It's not something set in stone, but it's true for the most part. I know people in med schools that are a$$ holes. It's amazing these people will be doctors one day.

Here are a few words for this CLUB to learn: HUMILITY, HUMBLENESS, COMPASSION, SINCERITY, I'll keep you guys posted on others...

Bye the way, join my 3.2-3.4 Club - you must satisfy either of two requirements:

1) you have a GPA between 3.2-3.4

OR

2) you are humble, easy going, can take a joke, you are compassionate, you are sincere and finally, you REALLY WANT TO BE A DENTIST!!!

ianwright just agreed with me, so I'm taking back my previous post. My apologies to everyone involved...except ian. No apology for you.

Too late to apologize to us.

This club is really sad. Most of the people trying to join this club have good GPA's, not mediocre ones. A 3.8+ club needs to be started, and the people who qualify need to transfer over to that one. The rest of you might as well wear a t-shirt that says "LOOK AT ME- I am average."

WOW - YOU HAVE SOME BALLS - YOU PROBABLY OFFENDED LIKE 85% OF THE STUDENTS THAT VISIT PRE-DENTAL FORUM

Even though I'm against it - Get ready for a Can of Worms 😡

 jk

A 3.6 just really isn't anything to be proud of. It's not bad, but it's not good either. If you're so insecure that you need to pat yourself on the back by joining a look-at-my-gpa club on an anonymous internet forum, at least make sure you've done something noteworthy.

It's still above the average though (3.42 is about the average GPA of an entering dental student based upon http://dentalstats.tripod.com/03-04.htm), and there are certainly fewer of us above 3.6 than there are those here below 3.2. I agree, it's nothing spectacular to have a 3.6 GPA, but at the same time it's not something to be derided either.

3.6 is nothing to be Proud of - You must be INSANE!

It's not that bad - Okay, that's one way to look at it

But it's not good either - Your out of your mind

Insecure - Nobody here with a 3.6 is insecure

Pat yourself on the back - We are here to Pat each other on the back!

An anonymous forum - To a lot of us, this forum is very useful

Done something noteworthy - chosen to pursue dentistry

SERIOUSLY - ENOUGH WITH THE NEGATIVITY 😡

i want in too

Why don't you join my 3.2-3.4 Club? You don't neccessarily have to have a GPA in that range to JOIN!

This Club will not take off like Yah-E's 😛

JUST JOIN MY CLUB 😡

As the emperor/dictator/ruler, I will nominate you second in command as Chancellor - (what do you think) 🙂

Speaking of stats that will qualify you for various clubs:
Ian (in all of his forms) has posted as of right now has posted 470 posts in 13 days- that breaks down to 36.15 posts a day. Therefor he qualifies (in my book) as a post *****, a troll, and for the elite "banned from SDN" club.

Ok, I'll join....3.60 Overall GPA and 3.76 Science GPA. GO TROJANSSSS!!!!!

wow....36+ posts a day is pretty whorish

By the way... how random is 3.6? Why not either 3.5 or 3.75??? Very strange, but hell... its not my thread.

i just wanted to make an observation that people with less than a 3.6 tend to pat themselves on the back for their supposedly superior humility and social skills derived from more partying and less studying. thus they are no more humble, compassionate, etc than we the 3.6 and up are - still arrogant, but in a different way.

Well said Biogirl. Humility will only get you so far, particularly with a 2.5 GPA, just as being an arrogant condescending prick with a 4.0 is not the wisest of approaches either.

I heartily agree. Those of us who have worked hard, spent weekends studyin for those killer ochem tests instead of goin out drinking and such should be proud of our accomplishments. It's going to take many a weekend in the library/lab to succesfully complete dental school, and learning how to study and say no to goin out and having fun when you really have to during college is only going to pay off in the end.

BIOGURL, ISU_STEVE, AND HOKIEDDS

You three need to step out, and view yourselves from outside the box. I have a 3.40 Bio GPA, 3.02 Chem GPA, and a 3.08 Physics GPA. Not to mention a 3.28 BCP. I'm aiming for 20's across the board for DAT. I have strong LOR's, decent amount of shadowing (30+ hours), and nice amount of Extra Curriculars and all that! Not to mention a perfected Personal Statement. My Application is set to go (probably by next weekend).

I have a feeling that I'm gonna get into dental school! Cockyness? Confidence? Yeah, Maybe - a little doesn't hurt.

But guess what? During University - I'VE HAD A BLAST 🙂 🙂 🙂

I've been OUT, SOCIALIZED, met people from all walks of life, I have been wasted beyond my imagination, I've puffed the magic dragon (gosh knows how many times). I've been LAID, I know over 10+ drinking games, I've been clubbin once four days in a row! I've taken a chemistry final while being BLAZED - got a B+, Woke up on my driveway after a superbowl party, Woke up next to random chicks at places that I have no clue how I ended up the night before, the list goes on and on, I've done it all - AND NO REGRETS!!!

And the funny thing is, I'll get into dental school, (maybe if not this year, definately next year - but I'll get there - and I'll have NO regrets, because I did what I wanted to do - MY PHILOSOPHY - you live once, you die once...)

WHOOSE WITH ME ON THIS ONE?

I find it amusing that you of a people would mention living, because it seems that the only life you have is on this message board. If your philosophy is indeed "you live once, you die once" then I think you should consider how worthwhile a life spent in front of a computer, posting meaningless message after message, really is. Why aren't you out doing all those great things you claim to have done instead of irritating the people on this message board?

WHOOSE WITH ME ON THIS ONE?

Definitely NOT ME. I did party, did some clubbing since I am so close to Baja (TJ Bars are out of this world), and had my Girl (=got laid), but my studies were far more important than anything else. I do not believe in your phylosophy, being responsible is my top priority and when there is time for some recreation, I will surely make that recreation memorable. 👍

i am definetely not allowed in this club...i'm graduating from UofT with a 3.26..but AADSAS bumps it up a lil for me.

i just want to state that i'm probably a pretty nerdy person, from the point of view of others...and u know what? i study a lot... i don't go out a whole lot during school either..because school is my priority...i make time for fun in my life, but school usually comes first.

i studied hard, and i have "OK" grades. it's not easy. getting "OK" grades doesn't mean u partied your a$$ off and blazed every weekend.
many people have other commitments too e.g. volunteering, sports, family, jobs, etc.

i think a good work ethic is what we need to succeed...great grades (in undegrad) will definetely help us along the way e.g. getting into d-school, but not the whole way
