I was just going through the EK Chem 1001 book this morning, and I'm starting to question whether or not doing so many of these problems will have any real value to improving my MCAT score.

The questions aren't MCAT style, the answer explanations suck, and most of the questions seem a bit too detail-oriented and focused on rote memorization of some formula.

Anyone else feel this way too?

If you're really weak on some topics and/or their math, then they can help. I personally stopped using them halfway through my studying. It's up to you; they can help, but aren't essential.

did you substitute doing practice questions with another resource? With something else entirely?

I was thinking about getting TPR hyperlearning science work book and using those instead... thoughts?

I'm also having the same issue with the explanations not having enough detail for me. They've actually frustrated me so I've purchased TPR hyperlearning to work with instead so hopefully that helps! I've heard it's good

I used TBR passages. Plenty of practice there I think.
