The REAL way to make money

Not sure where you're looking, but in the nice parts of Pittsburgh proper (North Oakland, Shadyside, Squirrel Hill), or the gentrifying parts (e.g. the strip or lawrenceville), 60k won't get you so much as a cheap condo. If you're willing to go further out, however, like in the north hills or monroeville there are deals to be had in nice neighborhoods.

That being said, while Pittsburgh has been pretty stagnant for decades in terms of property values, the city market has really started to explode recently. I guess people were reading all those "most livable city" articles.

There are nice parts of Pittsburgh? Wat?

Jk. I was there recently. Its nice enough. I'm just jaded. No place like my concrete jungle

Definitely agree. Pittsburgh proper is more expensive than 60k for a nice home.

I reside "further out" in a suburb, as you said.

This is proof positive that the real estate market is about to bust.

When you have random knobs running around yelling "OMG OMGWTFBBQ REAL ESTATE DUDE!"

Kind of like right before the stockmarket crashed in the 20's, you had shoeshine boys giving wallstreet fat cats stocktips.....they knew it was all about to come crashing down and pulled out.
