Having taken and passed the Florida boards, I can say that taking SRTA was vastly different and much more easygoing. I am 2 years away from general dentistry doing an OMFS residency in Louisville, KY.
The people at the SRTA office (Crystal) were very helpful, courteous, and took my concerns seriously.
The floor examiners and general mood of the exam were very laid back and not adversarial. I did not feel like I was in a concentration camp.
The criteria for acceptable lesions is much more lenient.
The perio / pros really do test important concepts, on the whole.
Results are posted promptly following the exam.
If you have to do a patient based exam (ask your neurosurgeon how he/she was evaluated...... NOT with a patient) I would recommend SRTA if you have a choice. I passed, btw.
