Ever think that the AMCAS computer programmers are disgruntled pre-meds who can't get into med school.

Sorry, no offense to anyone, I might be applying to AMCAS in 2002

:D :D

Personally, I think AMCAS programmers would be rejected very soon after submitting their secondary applications. Somehow, I get the feeling that the AMCAS "specialists" just don't have the requisite intelligence, problem-solving ability, people skills, etc. for medicine. Heck, they have trouble even spelling my name correctly.

No offense to you, sir. Just by posting here, you have shown more computer savvy than I've seen from AMCAS in a long time.

From someone who has experience with web programming, let me say this:

The AMCAS programmers no doubt have some good technical ability. The technical aspects of their work are indeed somewhat impressive in places.

However, they have very little common sense. When designing a web platform you cant just add all the bangs and whistles you want with no respect for the bandwidth demand that it will place on the system.

My impression is that these guys (women would probably have more common sense :D) are the classic computer geeks at all of our schools. These are guys that spend all day dreaming up new ways to program things JUST for the sake of making it more complicated.
