I'll be applying to dental school this upcoming June and after reading through the forums of people's insane DAT scores, GPA, extra curr, etc. and still not getting accepted, I've really been getting worried. So w/o any smart @$$ comments I'd like to get some genuine thoughts on what you feel my chances of getting into dental school are.

DAT
Bio: 18
Gen Chem: 22
O Chem: 20
QR: 21
RC: 17
TS:20
AA:20
PAT:21

cGPA: 3.50
BCP: 3.60
sGPA: 3.68

I've taken all the general prereqs, along with biochemistry, microbiology, physiology, and statistics. I'll also be taking anatomy, another biochemistry course, and immunology next semester. And i've taken labs with all the classes except biochemistry. I attend an accredited 4 year university, no community college.

Extra Curr: Microbiology club, pre-dental club, fitness club, certified physical trainer, ~50 hours shadowing, ~30 volunteer hours, ~150 hrs lab research.

I appreciate any help, thanks guys.

Your app looks great, I would suggest to get your shadowing hours to atleast 75-100. Those 2 sections I bolded might cause a few problems, I personally did poorly on the RC also, and I feel it did effect my application, luckily I was able to get in somewhere, but I am sure it held me back from interview. I would deff apply with what you have, but if you do not gain admissions, I would suggest you retake the DAT, because BIO and RC are the most significant sections.

Thanks for your help guys. I'm taking your advice on the volunteer hours and actually talked to someone today about a volunteer opportunity that I will be doing for the next couple weeks. Crossin' my fingers lol
