During my time in the military I spent over a year in san Antonio. And I took an evening gradute course on their campus. The best way to describe the Univ is that it is similar to Georgetown, Boston College, Notre Dame, etc in terms of religious activity. I did not see any religious activities during the day, but they do have fellowship clubs, mass at their Church on Sunday. That's it. It is simply no different than any other University but folks are more understanding & empathetic, give good financial support, do lots of community service and generally a nurturing and supportive atmosphere. Essentially you can get involved as much or as little as you want.
At that time the Pharmacy school was about to launch and it was being described as a professional school "associated" with a faith-based univ. Whatever that means. I suspect the school of Opt will be similar.
My understanding is that they value social justice, community service, ethics, etc.
