Thanks for the reply. That was what I was wondering if I could sent out applications before having my scores. Thank you, I was wondering about LOR also. 👍
Yes, and yes. Get yourself an Interfolio account (
www.interfolio.com ) and start collecting those LORs now. Most schools want two science prof letters and one nonscience prof letter. You can also submit up to three extra letters to most schools. Some schools also have additional requirements, such as peer letters, so check with each individual school for their specific requirements.
AMCAS usually opens in early May. You should request unofficial transcripts from *every* postsecondary institution you have ever attended, whether or not you have received a degree. Again, do this right away. This will give you time to look them over and take care of any unanticipated problems (mistakes, holds you forgot about, etc.). When AMCAS opens in early May, set up your account and start working on it. You should submit the AMCAS in June, even with no MCAT score. You should also start working on the secondaries for every nonscreening school that you are applying to--you can find copies of the secondary questions for every school in the PA forum. Submit the secondaries before your MCAT scores come back also. That way, your app will be totally complete the second your MCAT score is reported in mid-September.
If you are complete everywhere in mid-September, you'll be a little later than is ideal for many schools, but not horrible. What you don't want is to be barely skirting through right before the app deadlines. Remember that most schools have rolling admissions. If you're just getting around to submitting apps in October, you're way behind; other people are already getting their first acceptances by then. At all schools, there will be fewer interview slots available for you the later you apply, and there may be fewer seats remaining as well at rolling schools.
Best of

to you.
