For those who are applying or reapplying this cycle, I want to let you know that there is always hope. I failed a board exam twice, CS to be specific, and managed to match into Psychiatry. I am happy at an academic program right now. I got 2 interview invites for Psychiatry and 11 interview invites for FM, out of almost 200 applications. At the end, everything turned out exactly how I wanted. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

You mean licensing exam, not board exam.

Congrats, you've made it. Can I ask what rest of your app looks like? Step 1/2, etc.

But you failed to mention you had to dance wearing high heels and speedos during your interview to get in.

Of course yes I'm joking.

Congratulations. I have seen several psychiatrists, and other physicians not be great scorers on exams but are great physicians cause they were highly committed and focused. Examinations are unfortunately the only method to parse out large numbers of applicants quickly and efficiently but it punishes those that do great work in real-life that don't test well.
