Hey all, my mentor is kind of all over the place asking me to do all sorts of random projects and stuff, and submit to papers that I"m not sure I'll get our research into.

I was wondering, do the following things get written on a residency application:

*Posters that you were on (2nd/3rd author) but your attending presented at a conference
*Case reports that you write and submit but doesn't get accepted into a journal
*Research you participate in but does not amount to any paper/poster or anything?

Thank you all!!

It all counts - it doesn't matter if it gets published. Nothing I did so far is published and I'm at 16 interview invitations right now. I put grand rounds presentations and research I assisted with that wasn't even submitted to be published. Doesn't matter. Still counts. It just shows interest, nobody expects you to actually publish.

Sadly this is true. Sounds like you padded your app pretty well
