Oh, CSU. Dear, dear CSU! We love you but you frustrate us so! I'm sorry TurquoiseWolves... I feel your pain and frustration. I will be a third time applicant there this year as well. Maybe this will be our year!
I don't really have any advice (since I apparently can't please them either), but I do know that they seem to really love upper level 'ologies. I work with 2 other people who were also rejected from there (our clinic was 0 for 3 this year🙁) and lack of upper level bio classes was mentioned to both of them (and me last year... but I took more in the last year so she said I was good there now... but of course I still feel like I need more, with basically no way to get them.).
I don't know if there is any truth to the not going to undergrad in the state being a problem, but I didn't either so I hope it isn't! Regardless, that simply can't be changed so I refuse to worry about it! I will of course worry about everything else.
So sorry to not have more advice, but just thought I'd let you know I am in a similar boat! We can do this! And if it cheers you any (??), I am turning 34 shortly so to me it sounds like you are ahead of the game at 26!
P.S. I hope I can take some of you up on the PS offer too😳. I was told my PS was "good" at the file review, but I wish I had asked for more specifics about it! Not sure if I am going to do a total rewrite, or if I will just edit/modify the one I have. But come summer either way, I'd love to get some more input!
P.P.S My VMSAR book came in the mail today (I ordered a new one just for the heck of it I guess), so does this mean it is time to get serious about my list of schools? ACK!
