Just wondering if any of you guys have interviews w/ 3.0-3.1 gpas and 18-19 DATs???? i just went on predents.com and looked at the schools im applying to, to see who's getting interviews, and it seems like all you guys got 20+ dats....howll come no is in the teens anymore !! so if any1 has those stats and are getting interviews plz, post up for some support😱

Just remember that this is the first round of interviews so it's going to be the people with the highest stats that are getting all of the them (for the most part at least) we still have a long way to go til it's all set and done! At least this is what I keep on telling myself 😛

predents, although a decent resource, should not be deemed representative of your chances. Each school will receive AT LEAST 1000 applications, and how many appear on predents with interviews? Like 12. And you may freak out because you see 20's galore, but remember these are just SDN people.
If each predents school profile had a sample of a few hundred, THEN I would freak out.

Don't get too upset, 2quik, I'm sure you'll do fine. I have an interview this Saturday at OSU. My stats: TS 17/AA 17/ PAT 18 and my GPA is 3.97 for science/overall.....straight A's but I had two A- Good luck!

This thread reminds me of a poll of DAT scores for people on SDN, the mean avg. and mean score was something like the low 20's cross the board.. A lot of the same people with predents accounts are the same people on SDN, crazy obsessed pre-dents. The average for SDN, and predents.com is not representative for all applicants. I know how you are feeling I have 19/19/20 and a alright GPA most everyone with interviews to Nova, and Marquette have awsome Stats, that make me somehow feel inadiquate. What I keep in mind is a good dental student is much more then DATs and GPAs, thats why there are LORs, ECs, and personal statements. Take it easy everything will work out for you.

good job on ur GPA. but how does that apply to OP with a 3.0-3.1?

and 2quik, i really hope you get in, but i highly recommend finding a backup plan, i.e. grad school, retaking the DAT, strengthening ur ECs, etc. hope things work out for the best.

Good point, DentalBoarder! I guess I was focusing on the DAT scores.

I think strengthening the GPA would be good, but don't forget other areas. Life experiences, knowledge of the dental profession, etc. are really important as well. The most important thing is not to give up. If you don't get an interview this time, try again. We tend to want things to happen on our time schedule, but sometimes it's good when we have to wait. Believe me, there is a lot to be said for perseverence! Good luck! I'm sure you'll succeed.
