I just received this message from my advisor, sounds like they're still just stirring the pot. Hope it helps.
1. The following are messages from AAMCAS to Pre-Med advisors:

We are aware that the AMCAS application is experiencing
performance-related issues, and are working currently to take corrective
measures.
As many of you have concluded in your postings to the Listserv, the
issues the AMCAS application is experiencing are server-related. During
the coming week, AMCAS will be adding both additional memory and CPUs to
the database server, which will then allow us to add additional
application servers in a load-balanced environment. The application is
likely to continue being very slow at least through the end of this
week. AMCAS will continue monitoring application performance on a
regular basis, and will keep you posted throughout the process.
We know that our application's insufficient performance creates a great
deal of stress for both you and your advisees, and we appreciate your
patience and support.

One of our internal servers will be shut down for maintenance at 6pm
(Monday, May 7). This will also shutdown the AMCAS application, which
depends upon our internal server for user login capability. This server
will remain down until approximately 10 am on Tuesday, May 8.
