I found this link in another thread, but in case you missed the thread here is the link. I am such a geek to find this web site coool.

http://www.med.umich.edu/lrc/coursepages/M1/anatomy/html/courseinfo/video_index.html

Since some people might not scroll down past the meat eating discussions below, I have added both links to this post. The one I found has surgeries and great explainations about what is going on. There are also anatomy learning modules that are great testing you as you go through them. Univer of Mich should be complimented on their great site.

😴

Just kidding 😀 The site is kind of cool. I'll be sure to bookmark it.

Doode, seriously that link is awesome. Thanks AmyB!

I can't stop watching these videos😛

I do need to give the original poster (uhhuh, Junior Member)

credit for finding this site.

After watching these dissections, I have come to the conclusion that I think I am going to become a vegetarian during med school.😱

Why wait until med school to become vegetarian?! In addition to improving your overall health via lower fat and cholesterol, exposure to growths hormones and infectious bacteria and viruses, you do the environment a huge favor in terms of sustainability by becoming vegetarian.

To learn more about where your thanksgiving turkey is really coming from, check out:

And for a general, non-gory/gruesome introduction to the cruelties of factory farming, check out "the Meatrix" at:

Educate yourself today, sucka! If anyone has questions about animal rights or vegetrianism/veganism, please PM me!

turkdlit,
I find it funny that you attacked someone else in another forum for discussing Jesus. Yet you spout your own foolish ideologies here. Since you're so objective and politically correct, why don't you spare us you're vegetarian garbage. peace

I don't see the big deal. Cows are useless animals. If they didn't taste so good we would have killed them off into extinction long ago. They should feel lucky that a juicy steak is a mouth watering meal.

I say we start cooking PETA members and give the cows a break for a bit.

Mmm...doesn't that factory farmed turkey look good! Imagine him piled on top of tens of thousands of his other buddies, with 10 tons of excrement underneath them. There's your thanksgiving turkey folks! Yummm...

umasskid, religion is intangible, factory farming and those opposed to it is a reality, not an ideology. 10 billion animals are killed a year, which promotes enviromental degradation, global health problems, and animal suffering. Corporations place these animals in unbearable conditions to maximize yields and thus, profits. Thats how a capitalist society works. Try to sound a bit less ignorant when you post, k?

Vagus, your concern for Clay Aiken frightens me. I know he's dreamy 😍 but c'mon...

PETA always brings out the best in people.

i eat meat...lots of it. i like it. and though i agree with turkdelight that the way animals are treated pretty bad (i've seen the videos...it's pretty disgusting), i know that when things are cooked it's usually to the point of being okay to eat.

i will say that turkdelight's a nice guy though, i met him at an interview. it's his choice to not eat meat just as it's our choice to eat it...he didn't say anyone that eats meat is going to hell or anything. also, i'm a christian, and when someone says keep that bs to yourself after i tried to be open about it, well then it's only courteous to not keep pounding it upon them. ultimately it's their choice to believe whatever and most people are turned off by religious fanatics. being enthusiastic about any belief will often warrant criticism...which should be welcomed albiet to an extent.

i love those sites btw!

Thanks homey and very well said. You too are a nice fella, it was a pleasure meeting you way back then. Arguing about this stuff rarely gets us anywhere. I guess the most important thing is to be tolerant and respect other people's choices, even if we don't agree with them.

I swear I'm on the verge of being the pre-DO squat 'n squeeze...

turkdlit = The Other white meat

(Sorry turkdlit, I just couldn't resist. Seriously though, the site you gave can make one think twice about that Turkey dinner and I gotta give props to you for your dedication).😉

turkdlit,

I was only pointing out that you're a hypocrite, I wasn't bashing your ideas. but now that you brought it up, how is religion not tangible? religion has been ingrained in the human psyche longer than we can trace back. in fact, it's at the underlying of some of the most important political conflicts in the world right now, go read a newspaper. religion might be "made up", but so is your belief that we should all be vegetarians. at the end of the day, we're still built to eat animals. is farming animals the way they do cruel? yes, I would say it is. I only posted to show you that you shouldn't be so abrasive to others about their ideas, just because your a holy-than-thou activist. please man, spare us your wisdom and global awareness. as you can see from some of the other posts, many of us care about your ideas as much as you care for jesus. so, don't be a hypocrite, k?

I don't know about you, turkdlit. You go from one extreme of saying all this nonsense that offends everyone to being nice. You remind me of one of those unpredictable people who behave irrational at times then acts decently when the situation warrants it. I do like your signature though.😉
