U already know that the girl i have crush on doesn't want a dentist to be her husband 🙁 that's why I study 10 hours, and go to GYM for 3 hours every day. She will love either my intellectual side or my Physical Sexiness...I hope.

and I never said i want to become a dentist just to impress a girl even though it was just part of it.

Thank you for ur thumbs up. I know that summer break is the only time I can spend my 10 hours a day for DAT in 2 years. I only got 3 weeks before my new semester starts.... I hope I can completely master biology and general chemistry in 3 weeks.

P.S. : I will buy dinner for everyone on SDN if i get 30 on DAT 😍

wow! i had a good laugh. this is especially funny since i was studying really late last night (i take my dat next thurs) and i saw the comment joonkim made about being very stressed, yadda, yadda, yadda. i called him out on it yesterday!

i have respect for people who are very driven (the majority of people on sdn) but can't stand people who are uptight/socially akward. people need to loosen up. live life, you're only in your 20's once. we'll all get to dental school eventually so CHILL!

You don't have to compete with anyone. You have a good head on your shoulders and know what you want (some people graduate from college and STILL dont know what they want to do)

So just keep up the good work and dont forget to enjoy your college years a little. Actually, put some of the long hours you use for studying and get some volunteer and extracurricular activities done. Even with a 30 DAT... most schools probably wont even accept you if you dont have anything else to offer besides grades. If you say you have been interested in becomming a dentist for 8 years, where is the proof? Not to be harsh, but all I see is that you have shadowed a few hours - you have hardly any dental related experience, no research, no volunteering. You need to get much much more exposure.

Remember that numbers are HUGE... but they are not everything. Go out and enjoy life and have some experiences, because experience is what builds character and makes a great dentist!

(But, this is just one persons opinion)

yeah and the students at cal were not very nice to him. he always walked around campus by himself with his yellow back pack....and there was this one time while i was standing at a bus stop i witnessed these group of guys giving him **** and just bullying him around.

yo I remember back in 2k1 i was at NOVA, boy that was a hard school...compared to community colleges out here in southern california, it's a joke! Maybe just mine was, but it's easier out here, so i feel ya joon (i'm Im Joon). but yo u need to chiill out, studying 2 years in advance? your gonna forget a lot of it by then... take it from a hyung, just chilll , till the next episode....

U went to Northern Virginia Community College? Which campus? Annandale is the one I went to. It's true that NOVA is known as one of the most difficult community college but it's still a community college -_-;

Seriously...how do you know dentistry is right for you if don't look into it a little more than you have. 7 hours of shadowing and no other experiences in 8 years is pretty ridiculous...especially when you consider the fact that you spend 3 hours a day in the gym trying to bulk up to impress your trash-talking crush.

I'd like to see you explain why you haven't done almost any volunteering, work, or shadowing of dentists to an ADCOM while boasting that you spend 21 hours a week in the gym.

I worked for 2 years at Staples. :scared:
I want to volunteer and I actually wrote application at the public library and hospital but they r not calling me back.
I will spend more time on shadowing sooner or later. I have to go to dentist office every month anyway because I have braces.
Research .... I have no idea.
Student activities... I am doing now.

before u pursue anything further academically, i think you should take some time off from school like maybe for a year and find yourself a super pretty ultra hot girlfriend and spend more time in the gym. 3 hours is definetly not enough.

Talking about healthy life style. I went to college with this guy who got perfect scores on everything. He said his little sister wants to go to Harvard for undergrad, so she starts study for Sat now. Guess how old she is now. 12. 🙂)

I think staying at Community College already put me behind everyone. Even though I study 10 hours per day, I bet u r much smarter than me. I got an A in bio from community college but can you believe I didn't even know what photosynthesis and calvin cycle are until this morning. 😱

Dont worry man you'll ACE the DT if you started studying now and will great into a good dental school. Make sure you dont take too many classes though at a community college so transfer ASAP.

i think youre actually behind in preparation. you should have started studying for the DAT while you were in middle school. you might be too late and 10 hours is definetly not enough. at least 18 of the 24 hours of your time should be spent on studying since youre beginning late with 3 hours gym and 3 hours sleeping. good luck I think if you ever get into dental school you will probably never see daylight.

I use SONY Bravia 26inch widescreen HDTV as my computer monitor so my resolution is kinda different. I am not sure which girl is at bottom left of my friends page 🙂

anyway, I think all of my female buddies are beautiful, and the girl I love is the most beautiful girl among those girls on my friends page 😍

Actually, right now they have DAT destroyer on cassette tape for preschool kids so maybe with 15 hrs of daily studying for 20 years, they might score 20 on one section... this is a big IF might even with all that studying. This is one hilarious thread.

I don't think anyone can have my super sized muscular body plus sixpack abs without working hard in the GYM everyday.

I go to Virginia Beach tomorrow, and I am nervous as if I go there to take DAT 🙂

I use 60 pound dumbells for one arm curls to work the biceps. i'd like to be as buff as joon someday too 🙄
