OK, I really need some good luck, so I hope this thread works 🙂 ... I am one of "those" folks that took the April MCAT but didn't finish any of my secondaries until mid Sept... so except for a reject at Vandy way back, I haven't heard from ANYONE. All apps are complete and under review and the waiting seems endless (guess I am in the pile with the Aug MCATers) . Knowing I more-or-less put myself in this situation doesn't help. I really hope to hear some good news this week. At least one interview invite would be nice! Good luck to all of you!!!

Are you kidding? This post is good luck! 🙂 Lets look at Wake's numbers from 2002 ----- 5175 applicants! Uh, yeah congrats man...that's f*cking awesome, I'd kill someone to go to Wake. (Or if not "someone" then at least Michael Moore)

Thanks for the congrats, but I don't know, this whole process still boggles my mind. I mean, I got a high priority waitlist and a hold at 2 of my state schools and I haven't even heard back from the 3rd yet, where I interviewed mid-September (note to self, call Stony Brook) and then I get this acceptance from Wake? Where's the logic??

I realize I'm a day late posting this, but I finally got my first acceptance yesterday! I got into Wake, so I'm super happy about an acceptance but not so happy that it's so far away (I'm in NY). Oh well, I still have a few more schools to hear from and I'm happy to know I'll at least be going somewhere in less than a year!!!! Thanks for starting this thread JDAD. I knew gleaning the luck from it would work out sooner or later! 😀

April MCATer and I interviewed 10/25. My file was reviewed on 11/10, like lots of other SDNers and I was getting worried b/c people were getting their letter on like 11/16 and 17 and I didn't get anything till 11/19. It was postmarked 11/16, but somehow didn't make it to upstate NY till three days later. Ah well, good news comes to those who wait I guess! I take it you applied to Wake? to you!

here's the logic: Upstate and Downstate admissions are wack. You totally should have gotten into both schools, and there's no good explanation, but be pleased that you got into an even better school 🙂

Thanks stinkycheese! I am definitely pleased. And relieved because getting those two decisions from my state schools, which were kind of supposed to be my "safety" schools, was definitely starting to play with my head.

Yeah, I'm getting into those head games right now myself but with no acceptance to lift me out of my current misery. I hope I can join you with an acceptance to a private school this week. I'm beginning to already think about AMCAS 2006...
