What were your prep. books? Do you have any advice on how to study?? I haven't taken any prerequisites yet, but I KNOW that I can score at LEAST a 44 if I just get the right little snippet of advice. I don't really have any interest in putting in any good, hard WORK into the exam; I just want to brag and beat down the hopes of others who were stupid enough to score only in the high 20s, or lower. Geez, what losers.

Any advice you have for a fellow gunner would be great.

When I saw the title of this thread and clicked and waited for it to load, I had several "you're a *****" comments floating around in my head and was deciding which one to use.

Thankfully you were kidding

Well, just so you know, you're going to have to start studying 5 years in advance. If you don't have 5 years, forget it, you'll never get just a 44. We'll just have to call you an idiot and look down on you for ONLY getting a 31.

There are other places like MSN chat or yahoo chat that you can go with your mindless comments. These forums are reserved for people who are serious about medicine and who are not "complete *****s".

I got a 44. I gussed on every single question and hoped for the best. I'm so happy that it worked out this time!!!

Can you help little more than simply saying your scores?

I got a 46....but I drank one of those Full Throttle drinks before each section.
👍

(in case anyone isn't aware...I'm kidding) 🙂

I got a 44 but I'm kinda neutral about it. I was averaging 45 on my practice tests.

I haven't even told my parents yet cause I think they're going to kill me. I'm going to be the laughingstock of the family. All my cousins got 45 on the MCAT. Well, one of them got a 45S instead of a 45T and he was kind of the black sheep of the family... till I got a 44 that is.

Well George, me thinks I don't know what me thinks anymore.

I guess it was the fact the person has been a member since 2002 and had over a hundred posts that gave it away. One might deduce that person has been coming here for more than just posting stupid messages, but that is just me and I can be slow at times.

i prayed to satan. that really helped.

You have to want your high score more than the test-givers, who are ulitmately responsible, want to give you a low score. I suggest you take the strong-armed approach rather than studying like a *****. Med school is for people who live life on the edge, after all, if you're not living on the edge youre taking up too much space. My suggestion is the 3 letter/number approach: PCP & M16.

Perhaps that explains why 95% of doctors are *****s (also known as pop docs), seriously.

To get a 45, follow the instructions:

1. Obtain psychich powers which allow you to decipher the answers without working out problems or anything.

2. if option 1 fails, find someone with a brain like Einstein, and figure out how the first successful brain transplant occurs and borrow their brain.

3. If option 1 and 2 fail, you are screwed.

Just kidding with all of you all.

this thread provides a good laugh.

I thought about scoring a 44 on the MCAT, but I didn't want you all to feel inferior so I decided to score a 29 instead.

You're welcome.

Whoa Whoa Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!! You need to calm the he11 down. I know you were upset with your MCAT score seeing that it was not what you wanted it to be. But come on, give us a break!!!!!!!! We are allowed to joke around once in awhile. We are all human, and if this board was serious 100% of the time, then it would be no fun coming here at all.

The man who shot the man who shot JFK was Ruby. Just a little bit of factual info for everybody. Thats quite a dramatic post you have there, with exclamation marks and everything. I think forums in the future will have enough space so you can speak into a microphone and upload it in .wmv format so people CAN listen to IT and they will KNOW what CONTEXT the MESSAGE is in. But seriously, is there really any reason to get angry over nothing, if you look at the majority of the few posts I have made on this forum, few of them are very SERIOUS and ANGRY like you seem to think.

I love the dig about the MCAT mark by the way, totally out of context here and I think you need to think a bit more about your posts before you actually make them. Over and out.

You may feel that the competitiveness of the system in unnecessarily strict or outright unfair, but as a first year medical student, I can tell you that the MCAT is of supreme importance. People with garbage MCAT scores (such as a 44 or lower) are as conspicuous as a boner in sweat pants when they get to medical school. There is this one young woman in my class who was constantly falling behind-revealing academic ineptitude in laboratory, scoring poorly on tests, and so forth. I spoke with her about it, and she confided in me that she scored a 44 on the MCAT. I felt sorry for her and maintained her privacy with much moral qualm. I secretly understood that thousands of innocents would die someday as a direct result of her mediocre medical care.

Now, I have to say that I have some sympathy for your cousin who scored a 45S. I [of course] scored a 45T, but I feel that his/her poor writing sample score should only bar him/her from participation in the research aspect of medicine. S/he may become an excellent clinician. As for you, I would encourage the scrutiny of alternate options such as dental school, pharmacy shcool, nusing school, physician's assistant programs, and public health programs. Truth be known, not everyone can become a hot-shot physician, and all endeavors in health care professions are noble in their own right.

Your post makes absolutely no sense but ok.

Sorry about that, I modified the original message and didn't realize there was more than one page on the thread, so I thought it was the current message. My post makes no sense at all, completely out of context, and I'm glad you realized that because your post was exactly the same.

About the actual message, Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald after he shot JFK in 1963. I figured if I was going to say something completely out of context then it may as well be an interesting piece of American history. Thanks for reading btw.

What the hell is your problem with me??????? I did absolutely nothing to you in anyway shape or form.

A forum is a place to discuss. And there is a more serious part of this forum called the SUBFORUM which is kept SEPERATE FOR A REASON!!!!!!!!!!

That's where the serious questions about MCAT specific questions on a topic, or a question with a problem or needing a formula, or getting advice about TPR vs. kaplan, or other questions are kept at.

This part of the MCAT forum is just the place where people ask questions like what other people used, how others did on the test, keeping each other sane during post MCAT wait period, etc.

So it is ok as far as I'm concerned if a person posts something like the op did.

Exactly which post??????? The one where I told you to back off because you were attacking everyone on here. By golly gosh, but last I checked, this is a forum where people are allowed to have a conversation.

And last I checked you are by far the only one who took that post seriously.

It shoulda been clear that he was kidding around from the start, seeing that 43 is the highest score that has been given out in the last few years, and anyone who knows anything about the OP knows he didn't even get near 40.

Hence, it should have been easy to deduce that no such seriousness existed in this post.

One more thing DoctorJp,

Your random post about JFK making no sense is in no way similar to my post. Because rereading the thread through again, it is quite clear you were attacking people from the moment you first posted in this thread. I was just responding to that attack that you seemed to make on everyone on here.

I wasn't attacking you. I was just saying that anyone who couldn't decipher that this thread was made to be a joke from the start and then has the nerve to go attacking people need to take a second look. That's all. Sorry about that. 😀

Your score was good!!!! 😀

Man who is attacking people here? I never said anything to you, nor was I attacking anybody. If you can't handle sarcasm in its purest form, then maybe you should read past the posts that say doctor_damni'mgoodlooking, I mean doctorJP. But seriously, if you don't like comments like:

Well George, me thinks I don't know what me thinks anymore.

I guess it was the fact the person has been a member since 2002 and had over a hundred posts that gave it away. One might deduce that person has been coming here for more than just posting stupid messages, but that is just me and I can be slow at times.

then there really isn't much I can do about it. Different things mean different things to people, its relative if you will (sort of like one of those postulate thingies from that Einsteinian theory of relativity thing-a-mabob), and the guy who I replied to didn't seem to care about my sarcastic comment, but you seem to think I attack people, with verbal and emotional hatred. You are a feisty one and I like that in a woman, maybe if your not doing anything later ...... j/k 😛 . Anyways, my fighting gloves are away now because I really don't like making digs back and forth to others, not a good way to treat my fellow man (WOman in this case), after all, I should concentrate on posting useful information, limited as it may be.

Been watching alot of Clint Eastwood movies lately I guess. I didn't even read this thread for a few days and I decided to have a gander and the latest post was gujudoc callin' me out, I guess it was a heated moment in which I portrayed my feelings of anguish. I thought you were referring to Doc Holliday, but I guess it was myself. Anyways, hopefully this will be my last about this, got alot of work to do today but feel compelled to defend myself in some way, shape, or form.

Um that would be my friend gujudoc and if that was a subtle little hint about "i before e except after c" and the rest of the rhyme then thank you for the correction on spelling, I fixed my spelling of feisty.

Guju and JP---

I feel like the two of you should be in SDN's King of the Cage deathmatch or something.

Guju---Thank you for your comments, really. I did, however, know JP was kidding around on his first post. The sad thing about speaking in text is that it's hard to know when someone's being sarcastic, even though sarcasm is a fairly common entity around here! I think that's why we can include the Smilies in text; it lets us know when people are kidding. That's why the original post had    tacked on to the end of it. This post was meant to be good, clean fun that made light of the gunners that troll around here asking if their 3.98 GPA and 36 MCAT is good enough for their state schools, even though their verbal was only an 11. That's all.

And now my Smilie impression of the life of this post:

 :meanie: 😴 🙄 😎 :wow: :horns:

mj1878's wife here, speaking on mj's account.

I used to be annoyed at my husband's addiction to student doctor network (Why can't you be looking at internet porn like normal husbands!). But then he made me read this thread - tre entertaining.

Misunderstood sarcasm aside, this website is a great resource. And if ya'll are on edge, no wonder. I'm on edge about the process, and I'm not the one applying!

I would love to have a 36 and I laugh at people who question that mark, or anything in the 30s for that matter. I guess the MCAT is a big thing in the US, I don't think it is emphasized quite as much in Canada, more emphasis is placed on interviews, ECs, all the other stuff. I never interpreted this thread as anything more than a farce and in my opinion I replied accordingly. I suppose this thread has been more intellectual than some I've seen, I don't really know what to think about that.

Oh and I'm up for the two day battle royale if the doc is up for it, I shall assume the role of the Intimidator.

Wow, I was wondering how long it takes for some anal jerk to correct my spelling. It was a lot sooner than I expected.

DoctorJP, you're a feisty one, aren' ya?

No sir I'm not, merely a misunderstood soul, years ahead of his time in some aspects and years behind in others. I break even though so I'm happy.

Were you referring to me as an anal jerk, its that being slow thing that catches up with me sometimes.
