Thoughts on "episodic" payment

I recently came across this article (even though it's a few months old)...

What are your thoughts as to how this would affect anesthesia? Perhaps the hospital will just be given a total sum for a particular surgery that will have to be divided between the hosp/surgeon/anesthesiologist, etc??
