any thoughts on taking a short break (~1week to travel for a family event abroad) during my dedicated study time for step 1? have about 8 weeks to prep so it would come out to 1 week study, 1 week of travel, then back for the rest of the study period.

This would be healthy and important to my family but hoping to avoid any retrospective regret if this is a poor idea.

thanks for any thoughts!

I just took a 5 day vacation at the 4 week period (out of my 8 weeks) and I honestly think the vacation did me some good. I was fairly burned out for many reasons beyond studying. I'm back at it. My scores are slowly but surely improving. If anything, start studying a bit earlier in the year to mitigate the load.

depends on your scores. if you are getting the scores you are needing to get, then go for it. but in all honesty, why would you risk it? If anything, take one day or two days off max and go to an all day spa and sauna and you will feel really relaxed. keep yourself hydrated and work out!
