from my experience it seems that EK1001 verbal passages are easier to read but the questions are ambiguous and thus harder....

kaplan verbal on the other hand has tougher passages to get through but if you can understand the passage the questions are not too hard....

i have heard from lots of people that kaplan verbal is not good but I do think that they are valuable in the sense that you can get good reading practice....

anyone else feel this way?

i think that examkrackers is alright, but sometimes their explanations for the answers just didnt make sense to me. kaplan i usually get a 9, and thats what ive gotten on my two aamc tests so far. i think the questions are pretty similar to the aamc, but the passages are much harder to read, and so when i take an aamc test i feel much more comfortable with the passages. hopefully in august theyll b nice and dont give me passages like kaplan does 😛

I agree. EK verbal is much easier to read and the questions are harder. Hope the questions aren't harder than that.

when you practice verbal using kaplan, do you use the verbal passages from the full section tests or the 13 vr tests independent of other sections? i don't know which ones i should practice, i just want something representative of the real thing. i'm almost done ek but haven't improved in my score.

verbal test 8 by itself as part of the verbal sections just raped me....i missed like half the questions because i couldnt concentrate on the passages....no doubt the hardest verbal ive taken....i'd been missin around 12-15 on EK....take test 8 if you want a challenge,...

yeah ..the verbal passages are similar (about wood, evolution, china, etc) so you get a sort of false security.. also, the font is smaller than aamc, so i dont like the change 🙁

oh wow....i totally agree..
i just took that today and go so sad 🙁
I usu. miss around 18 w/ EK and I missed 29 on this test...and couldnt believe it...im glad im not alone

i cruised through kaplan verbals 1-6 getting about 45-47 raw and then on kaplan 7 i got killed and got 37 raw. i agree that the kaplan passages seem more like academic reads and easier questions and EK with easier to read passages with tougher questions. I like using both though.
