I was recently accepted to a program that meets on weekends, and the rest of the course work is completed online. There are so many things about this that sound great to me- being able to work part time while I'm in school, learning independently and then meeting to reinforce what I've learned, having a decent amount of time for studying, etc. I am slightly concerned that my hands-on skills may suffer a bit if I'm doing a lot of this independently.

Overall, I think I will wind up choosing this school, but I would love to get input from other students about your thoughts on a weekend/online program.

Thanks! 🙂

It all depends on your learning style. If you are independent and able to maintain the determination and focus that is required to study and complete things on your own then this can be a great option for you! As you said this will also allow you to work part time which is a huge plus when it comes to decreasing the amount of student loans you will have to pay back in the end. The only downside is the lack of face to face hands on experience. Instead of it being scattered throughout the week it is crammed into two weekend days. If you are ok with absorbing large amounts of information at one given time then this type of program will work well for you. Ultimately it is up to you and what you think will work best. In the end you will have your degree either way, you just have to make the decision as to which road will make it the most pleasant journey. Best of Luck! :luck:
