Looking for resources and/or suggestion for treating tic disorders in an adolescent. There also seem to be some elements of OCD and Social Anxiety, but ultimately I need to get more info. Tics are definitely present though and I have minimal experience working with tics. Did refer to neurologist and they have an appointment this week.

TicHelper | About Dr. Doug Woods, Ph.D

Doug is one of the bigger names in the field. Read up on some of his stuff. If you are interested in some of his treatment stuff

Managing Tourette Syndrome: A Behavioral Intervention for Children and Adults Therapist Guide - Oxford Clinical Psychology

I have personally seen he and his students treat tic/tric/tourettes and it is impressive.
Thanks so much. I will definitely look into it. I've done a bit of research and it seems there is a lot of overlap between adhd, tourettes, and ocd.

It's worth it even if he doesn't. Habit Reversal training is a good thing to be familiar with and have in your toolbox.

I went to a training by Doug Woods and while I was there got the Treatments that Work therapist guide for Tourettes (Managing Tourette Syndrome: A Behavioral Intervention for Children and Adults: Therapist Guide) which is great. I think on his website there might also be DVDs you can order?

This is great. I have actually met Dr. Woods before informally and we had a great chat.

What are some other broad uses for habit reversal training? I am considering purchasing the book but wondering how useful it may be and in what clinics/situations.

Obviously the main things that you will treat with HRT are repetitive behavior disorders, but there are components of the process which can help with many maladaptive behaviors. The awareness training components are great tools to utilize in a modified way in treating anxiety when you want someone to become aware of their avoidance or safety seeking behaviors. Additionally, you can modify competing response in some ways to address these behaviors after they have become aware of them. I've had some success joining this with exposure interventions. Generally, the awareness and exposure comes first, and then the modified competing response can help with behaviors where the anxiety has been diminished, but the behavior may continue due to it becoming a habit over the years.
