In your experience, what is the approximate time gap between when your file was complete (secondaries, letters of rec, etc.) to when you were offered an interview? Basically, when should we give up hope?

hang in there baby hang in there

i heard some pple got interviews after 6 months....

the leftover seats they give them to us after their through with everyone else 😉 keep up the hope 😀

theoretically, you could return your secondary in july or august and not get an interview until the following april or may. so there is no set amount of time between secondary submission and interviews.

so don't give up hope until mid-may, when most schools stop interviewing and move to the waitlist.

Thanks guys. I'll keep waiting, staring at the calendar and crossing my fingers until around May. And then... I'll have to take my final bows and move on. {sniff, sniff} 😀

Hey girl what are you so worried about? 😀

Dont you have 2 interviews already? You're way ahead of most people. Matter of fact you are probably tied for the lead with the most number of interviews so far on SDN.

Don't start worrying about interviews yet! At least, my idea is to concentrate on secondaries right now and not even think about interviews, since there's nothing anyone can do except get secondaries/recs in on time. At least, that's my opinion...probably influenced by the fact that my committee letter will not be done for a while, and I had my interview for it back in July. 🙂

I wouldn't worry about getting interview invitations yet. I mean...only one of the schools I am applying to starts interviews in September. All the others START in October and November. Hang in there!

this process can be excruciatingly long, just look at the folks who where (are) still talking about waitlist that they got put on for the 2001 entering class.

count on a long wait for most things, this is especially true for most of the folks who have average or below average numbers.

the ball keeps rolling, but for a seemingly large majority, it pauses here and there.

anyhow, i was talking to somebody that goes to a med school in boston (umass?), she brought up a good point:

when you are in medschool, you never look back at the process and wish you would have worried more.

i am a firm believer that if people are motivated enough, things will work-out. 😎

also, not that anybody wants to hear this, but many people have to apply a few times. we aren't all blessed with incredibly big brains, great schools, and the ability to get awesome numbers.

those damn big brains! 😀

Yeah, I suppose this question was a bit premature-- all this talk about interview invites that makes me anxious. I'll just be thankful for the interviews I have right now. 🙂 After all, it's all a waiting game in the end anyway.

Baylor21: I read your entry on interviewfeedback.com and it was really helpful. Glad that it went well and I'm sure you impressed the hell out of them. 🙂

I'm feeling some of the same anxiousness, and I don't even have one interview yet. 😱

I think I'm keeping my cool by looking at this whole process as just a stage, and also by reminding myself that everything is behind schedule this year. 🙂

this whole interview thing is getting on my nerve 🙁

i am so worried about getting a rejection letter...

oh my gosh, I can't imagine what it will do to my already fragile ego 😀

praying4MD girl, ur spreading the anxiety 😡 😉 let me know how u aced ur interviews 😀
