I will get one if there is benefit to me. Have not examined the data. Feeling under the weather for the day or so(post vaccine fatigue/malaise) even for a moderate benefit would be a good deal.
No got the 2nd dose early june. I'll wait at least until january and see where we are at then
got moderna so unless data shows me a big waning immunity like pfizer then i will hold off
I had a single dose of Pfizer and had a bad reaction so I didn’t get the 2nd dose. Checked my antibodies last month which were on the lower side. Took the J&J. I’ll check antibodies again in a year if this mess is still killing people.

Had a guy die in icu today who also only did a partial completion because of symptoms. Can’t imagine any symptoms are worse than being in the icu.
My favorite when I was rounding in the ICU two weeks ago was a lady with covid ARDS. We're proning her off and on for two days. We get some volume off with CRRT and oxygenation is improving. She's finally supine and stable enough for a SAT/SBT. Except when all the sedation is off she's not moving. Pupil is blown. We go down to the scanner. Massive multifocal strokes everywhere. Family withdrew two days later. Good stuff.

The whole world needs to lock down simultaneously at the same time to get out of this pandemic. A real lockdown Wuhan style. Otherwise this virus is just gonna circle around the world ; hopping from Europe to USA to South America to India to Africa to South East Asia and then back to Europe and USA. It slowly going to morph into an airborne black death with a mortality of 100%. We will be forced to leave Earth or else get wiped out like the dinosaurs.

Yes, when I was in the ICU as a resident in April we saw a bunch of big strokes. Makes the severe ARDS seem like not a big deal.
Is it? We flog a lot of basically dead people in the icu until they are dead dead. Who knows how much they suffered from that expensive, slow torture? Nose necrosis from prone position, gut ischemia from pressors, clotting, bleeding, trips to the scanner, trips to the OR for ex laps, trips to IR for t tubes, g tubes and drains.

Most of mine never come back to life enough to know if they even had strokes. 2-3 weeks of paralysis with refractory hypoxia then withdraw. Next.
Yes. We already have good data that vaccine effectiveness is waning. The evidence is quite strong imo. We are considered a high risk group and we all know delta is on a different level in its ability to do serious damage. It's always better to act early than act too late. The third shot is available right now. I know many people are just getting it who are healthy. The pharmacist doesn't ask any questions other than "are you immunocompromised" in any way? No proof is required or doctor's note/Rx.
Dozens of nurses, housewives are getting the third shot now. Even my hospital isn't asking any questions. So, if you are in a high risk area like mine where more than 1/2 of the population isn't immunized I recommend you do not wait.
