Hello all. I was just wondering how much date of application affects your chances of getting accepted to dental schools. Does it vary from school to school?

I think I should be ok as far as my GPA and DAT scores, but I just sent in my application on 9/30 to schools with deadlines of 11/01 (Iowa and San Antonio) and 12/01 (Minnesota)

What do you think?

Better late than never. First, it will take AADSAS about a month to process your app. Then the bigger problem is that your application may be put on the bottom of the pile and they may have to review hundreds before yours, but they'll probably eventually get to yours. Also, you may be interviewed well after the December when lots of students are getting acceptance letters. But don't sweat it now, it's too late to look hindsight. What I would do is start looking at filling out secondaries for those schools and maybe write down some key elements you may want to write on secondaries. For ex, some of the schools in their secondaries asked "why do you want to come to school here?" so be prepared to answer them. I know Iowa's secondary didn't really require an "essay" per say, but the other schools may require additional info. What I'm trying to say is get those secondaries done just as soon as you get them. Good luck!
