When is the optimal time to apply to schools such as NYCOM, PCOM, and Tuoro-NY.

Online it says the deadline is in February. Will waiting till December to send in my application put me at a disadvantage?

Thanks

If you have taken the MCAT and are on schedule as far as ore-revs, go ahead an apply. Since nearly all the schools are on rolling admissions, the earlier you apply the better your chances. Get your letter writers on board too!

unless i had a stellar application...3.8+ and 35+...i wouldnt waste my money on apps if i was applying as late as the month before the deadline. i would wait til the following application cycle, improve my app even further over the year, and apply the first few weeks that the applications open (if not the first few days). this will ensure you give yourself the best possible chance.

applying so late puts you at a serious disadvantage as a good chunk of the available interview invites a school has to offer are already sent out to recipients.

Why would you plan on waiting until December. That's a very long time away. Regardless, if you have the money - apply away.

I'd wait till March!! its the best time to apply.

Admissions at NYCOM told me they start taking applications in June/July so you should probably try to get in as soon as possible after that. If you wait till the deadline there will probably already be people with acceptances in hand.

I am currently in Grenada at St. George University... I have recently done more research regarding DO programs and have become more interested...

Therefore I am quite busy, but I guess I get the point! I will send out my apps ASAP!

NYCOM starts scheduling interviews in December, so that would be kind of late for an application. There is no 'optimal' time but as a rule of thumb for any medical school: the earlier, the better. 👍

Interview season has already started. It's the first quarter right now, with 12:02 left on the clock.

December is ~third quarter. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to put my team on the field only for the second half. Go ask the Vikings how that worked out for them on Thursday, Johnson
