Time to rotate

When do most students rotate in Rad Onc at their home institutions or at aways? Would late third year (ie. spring) be a good time to rotate at the home program and summer before the 4th year for aways be the norm? Thanks.

Generally speaking, the earlier (after core rotations), the better.

Home rotation before end of MS3 is ideal if your schedule permits (fewer other students, etc.). Away rotations tend to be easier to get in June vs. July and August, since some students are restricted by their home school's schedule that prevents them from doing aways until late summer/early fall of MS4.

What nothingman said. Rotate early. You want to reflect your rad onc experience in the personal statement, and you want LoRs from rad onc.
