I just received my final grades. I was rather pleased:

Organic II: A
Spanish I: A
Art Ap: A
Cal I: WP

Then I got to my PE class, which is required to graduate at my CC.

It was a canoeing class that just met for an entire weekend. I got a C in it. Luckily it was just a two-hour class. I'm still very mad. I canoed, followed directions, etc. I didn't endanger myself or others. I did what I was supposed to do. I don't think I did anything wrong.

Has anything this stupid ever happened to anyone else? I'm just....at a loss of words right now. Do med schools count PE/HPR classes?

Maybe talk to the teacher? Find out what you did wrong?

And medical schools count PE classes like regular classes. Most of the time PE classes are fewer credits than other classes, so the C will not matter much in the long run.

Can't canoe? You'll never make it as a doctor.:meanie:

I'll try to track him down. I hope he isn't canoeing to Cuba or anything...

C is suppose to mean satisfactory, while A is excellent. The people rowing like the Winklevoss twins going for the gold in the Olympics were getting the A while you were just a-paddlin' your way to a C.

/not srs

lol... sorry OP. If were an adcom and I was reviewing your app, I would probably just think the C in canoeing was funny. As long as everything else is fine it really won't matter, especially because it's only a two-unit class.

Think of this as an opportunity to come with a crazy story involving a canoeing accident.

Canoe crash, 4 people were drowning. You saved 3 = 3/4 = 75%.

This will not hold you back at all. It is a good story though, haha.

Similar situation happened to me in a volleyball course and I got a B. At one interview, a student interviewer was interested in hearing that story (they know potential med students are very type-A) and I think being able to joke about it was helpful.

Sounds like you might be up a creek without a paddle (or solid canoeing skills).

It will all work out in the end, OP. You're trying to be a doctor, not a member of the Lewis and Clark expedition.
