Hey guys, i asked this question to my advisor and havent exactly recieved clarity on the matter...

I have good DAT scores (AA:21 TS:22) and a really nice GPA (~90% A's ~10% B's) but i have one ugly--a C+ in Chem 2. I'm debating taking that course over, but i know i have to report the original score, even though my school erases it. Do I...

...1) take it and wait for the score to come in before finishing my application (the course ends ~Aug. 10)

...2) Forget about it and have my application done by mid-July

...3) any other option that i have not been creative enough to think of

I'm totally "funcused" lemme know what you think...thanks.

At least here in Texas...I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you simply submit in now and NOT take the course over again. Everyone has a few messups, and even if you take it again, it will still be on the application. So the thing is, you won't even boost your GPA that much if you make an A, cuz it will avg out to be a B AND they will still know you took the course twice anyways.

Also, you must consider that (again, in Texas from my experience) 95% of seats are taken on the first round of interviews, leaving VERY few seats for those who didn't get their app. in on time.

If you have a good gpa and you obviously have a good DAT score, then I would go ahead and get your app in as soon as possible, but don't skimp on your personal statements, etc... it is a very important part of the application process.

Your scores are not good enough to wait.
Apply now.

I agree........ apply NOW!!!!!!!! emphasis on NOW......... I had I think 4 Cs on my transcripts and similar DAT scores and I was accepted at multiple places...... Let the C go they expect that most people will get at least one C during college.

Good Luck

Forget about the chemistry and just get your damn application in by next Wednesday. Seriously.
