I have a question for SDNers who have taken DAT recently. I usually finish my Bio section on Topscore and Kaplan tests in 20-25 minutes. I was wondering if you all remember how much time it took u to finish Bio on the real test. Thanks guys!

Finished all of the sciences fast.
Biology you read the question, and you know it or you don't. There is no calculation. Sure you can sit there and think about it, but lets face it you don't know the answer. Maybe you can reason it out a little.

I took my DAT today, and finished the bio section in about 15~20 minutes (about the same for when I took practice tests).

How did you score on the Biology section? Also, how random were the question in Biology section?

I also spent about 20 mins on my bio section. same for Topscore. Achiever I spent more time b/c the questions were super long. The questions on the real DAT were even more concise than the Topscore. I don't think I had any problems that went over two lines. I ended up getting a 22 on my bio (got like 18-20 on my topscore).

Thanks everyone. My topscore Bio scores are 21,21 and 20. I am hping to get 20+ on the real thang!

you'll be in good shape then! Just pray the night before that the test you take will be an easy one 😛 first time I took the DAT, I got 18 on my bio.. ridiculously hard questions. about weird proteins i've never even heard of.. or I'm just thinking the test got easier this year seeing that a lot of people got over 22AA+

I got a 29 on my bio section. I would say the questions were kinda random, but not as random as I was expecting. I was expecting at least one question on respiration, photosynthesis, or something of the sort. None.
But of course, you can't base this off of my experience alone. Imagine their entire bank of test questions! Although I did get the exact same question that I saw on a practice exam.. haha

The exact same questions that you got on your practice exams, were those questions from TopScore or DAT Achiever Tests?

Not questionS (plural), just question (singular). And it was from ADA's free practice exam. I didn't use topscore or achiever so I couldn't tell you much about them. What I did for bio was read kaplan and the plant chapter from my sister's Cliff's AP bio.
