So I know that you're not allowed any timing devices except a watch that is not supposed to beep. My watch is digital, and of course I wasn't going to set the alarm or anything (which would beep a lot). However, keeping track of time is easier for me if I set it to 12:00 at the beginning of the test...you know, that way I know I have until exactly 1:40 for PS/BS, and 1:25 for VR. BUT when I do that, the watch makes one single beep....Do you guys think this is okay? Or do I have to buy a new watch? :meanie:

I used the same techinique but with an analog watch. I would bring both in case they throw the digital one out. But even one small beep might set people off.....

good luck! 👍

agreed, people are probably a little on edge and a small beep might set em off 🙂 i'm going to do the setting to noon thing too with a regular watch. you never know, you might get a jerk proctor who throws out the digital...better safe than sorry.

My watch made one single beep when I started the chrono. So did the proctor's. So I timed mine to happen at the same time as his. No way he could hear my beep over his beep

If i heard a beep and didn't know whjat is was for; i'd think time was up or somethign and you'd give me a huge panic attack. If the proctor really wante dto give you a ahrd time they could throw you out for that...well that's what i've been told.

You start your timer at the beginning of a section. Would you think a beep then is the end of the test? If so, I'd recommend getting some sleep prior to the test 😀

If your watch makes a single beep at the same time their official timer does, they will most likely not give you a problem. They could, in which case you should have a backup plan.

well i'd think it could be a 5 minute warning or the proctor's timer for the end of the test....in any case a beep would distract me and set me off

so what is everyone setting their timer for...half way thru?

and yea, i'm hoping to get some sleep before the test..if not, i'm really in trouble.

Ok, I'll try one more time. I'm talking about one beep at the very start of the section. Like an hour and forty-five minutes before the end. Anyone who mistakes that for the end or a five minute warning doesn't need to be in the test

sorry, sorry...i'm both stupid and need more sleep. i got 2 hours last night and am presently too absorbed in organic chem.

break is over and yes i'm leaving now and getting some serious studying done

Wow, I'm glad that conversation is over. Moosepilot, maybe next time you should try drawing a picture for him. 😀
