Step I timing for step III

I'm doing a prelim medicine intern year (in Texas) and have to be liscenced in Oregon before I start my PGY-2 program there. I anticipate the liscencing process will be rather lengthy and was wondering if I need to get step 3 done by Christmas of my intern year.

Any comments/suggestions?
