I'm late to the applications because of unfortunate circumstances, but I wanted to ask, are there any schools that I might be able to receive an interview at if I apply to RIGHT now?

Or ones that do not get filled up easily?

Or ones who have not opened their registration yet? (I know NYIT-COM hasn't.)

Thank You.

For every school you're going to have to wait for:

1) primary to be verified
2) primary to be released to schools
3) schools to send secondary
4) school to process your secondary
5) then an interview invite

With all that being said, it is early in the cycle and schools interview well into the spring. So submit your app ASAP and relax!

To give you an example timeframe, I submitted my app on July 17 and received my first II on 8/30.

All of them (except MSU). It's still early.

I'm right there with you, OP. I had some unforeseen circumstances pop up in July and I have just now been able to recover financially from it. I'll be submitting my primary tomorrow although I've essentially been done with everything since July 2nd.

It is still early. By the time our primary gets verified we will no longer be early, but certainly not late either.

I think you should be honest with yourself and evaluate your stats. If you are competitive this year, then go for it full force. I'm sitting at a >3.4c/>3.5s and 27 MCAT so I'm hoping I'll end up doing well. If you have any serious deficiencies in your application you may consider using this year to fix them and applying in June. If not, I say go for it. It's only September.

FYI here is a thread where people semi-regularly update their application statuses as it progresses through the various stages.

My best guess for for how long you would have to wait to be verified and released to your schools would be anywhere from 24 days to 31 days if you submitted this week. Most people (according to at least allopathic stats) apply in july so once that wave passes, there are less applicants to verify.

Chill! It's a longer interview cycle than for the MD schools, so you're fine. Waiting until January? That might start getting late.

Well, my MCAT may be an issue.
3 Attempts: 25, 23, ???

But my sciGPA is 3.66, and totalGPA is 3.75...wonder if it makes any difference since medical schools seem to care more about the MCAT.
Anyway, thank you for your information and encouragement.

Yes, big flag right there, should've just rolled with the first MCAT. That third score should be higher!
