timing of one year subscription to uworld for step II?

first is a year subscription excessive for uworld? second I'm coming off a weak Step 1 Score and hoping to make that up on Step II. when is the optimal time to take Step II in my case as I'm trying to time my uworld subscription as well. this last question has been often discussed but most answers are written in qualitative terms: early, late, etc. What exactly defines early? May-June?

Get the year. You can use it as an exclusive source to study for most board exams; you may have to add a little more.
Early Step 2 is somewhere between May-mid Sep before you send your ERAS app off.

My recommendation would actually be to use another QBank throughout the year such as USMLERx and save USMLEWorld for your dedicated study period. I think it is essential to have a fresh set of high quality questions to truly test your knowledge and USMLEWorld is certainly the highest quality.
