Timing of taking DAT

Hello all,
I am taking my DAT on August 4, 2017 and the earliest deadline to a dental school I plan to apply to is September 30, 2017. This gives me exactly 9 weeks and 1 one day to get my application in before the deadline. My question is to those who have previously taken the DAT, what was the turn around time like? I saw where it takes the ADEA AADSAS application 4-6 weeks to be processed before it can be sent out to schools and I saw somewhere else that it takes 1-2 additional weeks for everything to be compiled before it is sent to the school you apply to. So my question is do I need to already submit my application before taking the DAT then update it with my score immediately upon taking it? (I am also in physics currently so it would be ideal if I could wait until I could send my final grade with my transcript so I would not have to send it additionally).

I'd apply first

Yes, you should submit your application ASAP so that transcript verification will be completed and your application will be ready with the schools to be updated with your DAT score. If you wait until after you take the DAT you will likely end up completing your application in early September which is very late, regardless of the school deadline.

I took my DAT the 23rd, and schools recieved them the 10th

You can also email some schools your unofficial score report they give you after the test

Have you at least started your application? You should have your transcripts sent in ASAP and submit your application before the DAT.

Things have gotten crazy since this post but I moved my DAT to August 17. I just finished the summer term of physics last week. I studied alongside physics but as soon as it ended I've been putting in 12 hour days of studying. I just got my final grades for physics which is why I waited as long as I did to apply. I'm not even close to being done with my application though and I do not want to take time away from studying in this cramming period that I am in now. My plan is to take the DAT and finish the application within a couple days of taking it. So it would be late August by then :/

Both are 3.90

Just make sure you send your transcripts in like right now even if you're not applying til after you take the DAT
