Hey Guys,

I hope all is well! I just finished my 1st semester as a D2 and home for the holidays;-) With the NBDE Part I around the corner...I picked up the dental decks from a D3 and want to know what exactly did most people do to prepare for the exam. When did most people start preparing for the exam? What resources did you guys use to study for the exam i.e. Decks and any specific books? What is passing and how hard is it to get a above a 90? Any and ALL advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again!

Any recommendations between Dental Decks and Dental Staxs?

is anyone selling their 2004 or 2005 decks for part I (actual hard copies, not CD) for a cheap price?

Anyone with any form of advice preparing for Part I? Thanks again guys!

Just do a search for NBDE I scores or something like that. There is a thread floating around with scores people received and how they studied boards,

Here was my formula: I had six weeks to study. I studied both the 2001 version of the Decks and the 2004. I mean to the point where I knew the front and back of each card backwards and forwards. There is a lot of overlap between the 2 versions which only helps with review. I took one old exam at this point to get familiar with the test. Then, I skimmed through Lipponcot for Biochem for about a week or so, with some glances at Netter for Anatomy. I didn't look at any textbooks for the other subjects. For the 2 weeks or so before the exam, I would review First Aid USMLE (GREAT REFERENCE) and take an old exam a day. I also had the "pilot test" which was given in 2004 (there were quite a few repeats between this test and my actual NBDE I). The day before the exam, no studying at all. Result: A very happy Tigger 😀 😀 . Best of luck!

ALL the advice has been really helpful! Anyone w/ their study methods for part I? Where is that thread? Thanks again!
