Title pretty much says it all! I'll be starting DS1 in three weeks and am just wondering what kind of advice anyone might have that is useful.

-Anything from reviewing each day's lectures (if this is even possible with the amount of material)
-making sure to exercise
-taking a day off to relax on weekends

Just curious to see what helped others succeed their first year!

Couple guys who I know were doing well said, relax, drink beers with buddies and you'll do great.

But really, make time for yourself, don't overwhelm with school work and everything should be all right.

Realizing that I will practice general dentistry instead of specializing has been the greatest thing that has happened to me. The grades don't have to stay as high, the study time goes down, free time goes up, and the stress is almost gone.

If you are dead set on specializing, keep those grades as high as possible. To do that, pay attention every day, record the lectures, and keep up with the material. Know the material well enough to take a pop quiz every day.
