I had a few interviews pre-Dec, and had some decent luck with the process so far (2 waitlists, 1 acceptance!!). I have an interview in January at my top choice school (in state, 25 min from home) and am really stressed about the interview since it is post-Dec.

Does anyone have experience with post dec interviews/what they are like? I'm not sure what to expect afterwards. Also if/when they ask what schools I applied to and what offers i have, how do i tell them that I would choose their program over my current offer without sounding ungrateful for the offer that I have?

Help!

Hi there, Murfee!

Practice makes perfect, I would recommend mentioning that you are extremely grateful to have received offers from other schools, but you'd be acting unfaithful to yourself if you were to preclude that they are still your top choice.

When we interviewed applicants at UCSF, our goal was to fill 70% of the class before the new year, with the goal of sending about 150 acceptances to fill a class of 80 or so students (depending on the year). So, don't put too much emphasis on the fact that it's post-December. Also, we generally frown on asking applicants about their status at other school.
