Any tips/suggestions/ideas for what you do the day before the OATs? Most test guides tell you not to study at all/that much but i still need to go over a practice test i did last night...so i'm going over the weak parts I messed up in the past several hours.
Then maybe i'll go over some Kaplan flashcards.

Going to check out my testing site now.

Any suggestions/advice, calming/encouraging thoughts for me will be welcome. Thanks!

I agree with not studying. I didn't the day before and it felt nice to have a break and it settled my nerves. If you need to go over things, just review. Really, if you are learning it the day before you probably won't remember it on the test. So, my vote is always for relaxation. But, do what you gotta do I guess.

Oh, and good luck with everything 🙂.

THanks Cherry and Oogilily~

I am disappointed though to say that my results weren't that great. 🙁 I did the same as last time and totally regressed in Bio and RC-- I did 100 points worse in reading comp than in my practice tests... something about those q's just didn't want to register with me. 🙁 And nothing really drastically improved except for orgo. TS and AS scores both are 310 🙁
This is my second time taking this and i'm very very discouraged about my prospects. 🙁
i'm really upset and just don't know if i want to take the OAT a third time or even if that is allowable or even if it looks good...
I'm really upset and down at the moment so any suggestions or thoughts would be welcome...

is it even time to throw in the towel?

~really depressed me 🙁 :*(

Sorry to hear that you're feeling bummed about your OAT.

If it makes you feel any better... I think that the OAT is only one part of your application and your application could be very competitive if you highlight your other positives. High GPA? Lots of activities? Leadership? These are all things that schools look for.

In fact, I received a document from SCCO stating that if you reach an interview, all the applicants are put on a level playing field because all the applicants are considered to be academically competitive. The trick is to convince them to give you an interview!

And don't be too hard on yourself regarding your optometry score. First of all, you didn't do great, but you didn't do terribly. Some people are good test takers and some aren't. It doesn't mean you'll be a better optometrist or worse.

And one test doesn't mean you should give up on being an optometrist. I was once rejected from a program at my local state school. (kinda embarrassing) After getting rejected, I called the office and asked, "What can I do to strengthen my application?" Then told me, I followed their directions, reapplied and got accepted. So keep pushing for what you want.

All the best!
