My application for d-school will probably be complete by September 1st (taking DAT the 2nd week of August).

I was wondering if anyone could share any insights are to if my chances would be significantly decreased by being so late in the cycle.

Should I take my exam earlier if at all possible? I just don't feel that I would be ready (currently working 60hrs/week).

Thank you for your thoughts.

So you're saying your application will be done before Aug 31st? You used to be able to submit your application before your DAT scores, but I know they changed the DAT score reporting - can you still do this?

If you submit your app before the end of August, while you'll be less likely for a Dec 1st acceptance, your chances aren't going to be killed. That said, you should apply to at least 13-15 schools to counterbalance that effect.

And no, don't take the DAT until you feel comfortable.

Yes you can still submit your app before you take the DAT. You are correct in that the app wont be considered fully complete until the DAT score comes in, but you really should submit your app before your aug DAT date, so that the last piece of the puzzle is your DAT score showing up. I'm going the same route, and have heard from a few sources that I should fax my unofficial score report to all my schools the day i take the DAT. Some schools will consider these scores, some will wait for the official score report.

good luck
