I know there is no straightforward answer but I am just looking for some advice since it feels like I have hit some kind of testing plateau. After 2 months review + the AAMC assessment package I started doing full lengths scoring the following:

AAMC 3 - 29 (9,10,10)
AAMC 4 - 33 (12,10,11)
AAMC 5 - 34 (12,10,12)
AAMC 7 - 34 (12,10,12)
AAMC 8 - (Aug 20th)

The change between AAMC 4-5 was +2 correct in BS and AAMC 5,7 were identical. I was really hoping to hit the 36 range before writing the real deal on Sept 6. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Improving upon a 12 in a single subsection is very difficult because you're reaching the point where you kind of have to just be lucky. For instance, you get one wrong, you're already knocked to 14, get a couple more wrong and you're at 13. It's just very hard to get the percentage of Q's right to achieve those point values.

So in your case, it's verbal that you have the most room to improve upon. My advice would be to practice like your life depended on it. If you don't already have it, I would recommend buying Examkrackers 101 Passages in Verbal Reasoning.

Make sure you're looking closely at why you got certain questions wrong. Actually use the AAMC's feature of classifying wrong answers into reasons. Once you have a good idea of why you're getting questions wrong, you can work toward fixing it. You should be spending as much time evaluating yourself after a practice test as you did taking it.
