Very sad. Her SEs sound much worse than I'd expect, but you don't see long-term follow-up from whole brain very often.

It certainly sounds bad, but I always view cases reported in the media with some skepticism. It could have happened the way the article suggests but there may be other factors that go unreported or the report could just be simply incorrect.
