haha... so after checking my inbox all morning, I finally got the good news so my face now looks like a combination of 😀,🙂, & 😎.

I took the DAT 7/2 and submitted my app the same day. The status of my DAT scores was not updated until today when they verified my app. I'm guessing they were very slow to update it because I called Baylor yesterday and they said they've had my scores on file for quite a while now.

Im the new kid on the block, I have a few questions for anyone who has the TIME to answer them lol!! How do you guys know when TMDSAS sends out the applications to the schools?? Is it listed somewhere on their website?? Im soooo confused about TMDSAS' site it totally sucks and they dont update ANYTHING 😡!!! Is anyone on here applying that has particpated in a Dental Enrichment Program?? And lastly are there any nontraditional applicants?? I'm just curious about everyone elses application process!! Good luck yall!! :laugh:

7/30 transmitted to schools
7/31 email from sa- received app

you'll get an email when tmdsas transmits ur app to schools, its like a game of waiting and wondering if ur app really got processed or not. then finally when you've almost given up all hope. it gets transmitted. took about a month for mine. as far as the other questions i can't answer them for ya. good luck!

UT Houston is finally starting to review apps.
Here is the email I got from them today...

"This letter is to acknowledge receipt of your application for the 2010 entering class at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, and to thank you for your interest in our institution. The Dental Admissions Committee is reviewing applications and we will be scheduling interviews as the Committee works through the review process."

Yeah, I just received that email too. However, I still haven't heard from San Antonio or Baylor.

just curious, but how long did it take for SA to receive your apps?

My app was recently sent out and i'd just like to know a general timeframe of when i can expect a response.

7/25 TMDSAS verified and transmitted app to schools
7/31 SA sent email saying they've received app

I'm assuming it's being reviewed right now...:xf:

ah... no interviews yet. baylor hasn't even contacted me about receiving my app.

hopefully I'll hear soon from all three.:xf:
 
Which of the 3 texas schools are you guys leaning towards? For the fact of making it simple and due to family reasons I prefer to stay in Houston. And I especially like that they're going to be getting a brand spanking new building within the next couple years. 🙂

I'm leaning towards UTHSCSA, just because of its ranking i guess. Houston for me is too close to home and I do not want that.

I'm definantely a fan of UTHSCSA. The school is fantastic, the laptop searchable software is great, clinic is great, and its close to my hood. 😉
 
If I have already sent an updated summer transcript to TMDSAS, will they send the updated info to the schools or will I have to inform them myself?

Yah, so I got an interview at San Antonio on the 31st of August. I'm really nervous because I'm an out of state resident. Do you guys know of any place where I could find information on others who have interviewed there. I really need to rock the interview.

this thread makes me depressed with all the interviews you all are getting.

tmdsas sent out my app 8/4. Baylor hasn't responded yet about receiving them... should I call them?

Thanks! Hopefully, you'll be getting one too! I think on predents there are a few others who received interviews as well.

Don't be depressed! I submitted mine in June, and this is the FIRST school that showed any signs of life. LOL. It just takes them awhile to process them. Before you know it, you'll receive tons and won't know what to do with them all 🙂

Hey, have you heard anything from them about your out of state residence? Like did they mention it in the interview invite? Or how your scores compared to other out of state applicants/matriculants?

I'm just curious because I am an out of state resident as well and I am really trying to get into Baylor (but also applied to SA as well, who knows) and trying to get some more information on my chances.
 
I did get a letter about two weeks before I received the invitation to SA that stated that I would be applying as an out of state resident for this admissions cycle. The only thing I did otherwise was that I went down to texas about two months before I submitted my application and toured the school. I made sure to tour the school on the days that they don't offer group tours so I could have one on one interaction with the faculty. They initially put up a stink about not being able to show me around except on group tour days but I convinced them otherwise. I believe a have a pretty solid app, although my DAT scores are not that great, I speak spanish and expressed that I wanted to work with the under-served latin communities.

I submitted my app to TMDSAS 7/4 and they received my payment 7/5. They didn't mail it out till 8/4. SA and Houston emailed me about receiving my app the very next day. Haven't received anything from Baylor.

I'm aware that it takes them time to process apps so hopefully I'll hear from them this month.

I don't know, I saw some other guy on here applying to Baylor too and he had a ridiculous DAT score though.

You can actually do a search on predents.com for all applicants to Baylor that are not Texas residents

i know how you feel about depressed about no interviews, but you have to keep in mind that most of the ppl on sdn are so on top of things, ahead of the game, and have super awesome dats and gpas. atleast thats what i keep telling myself. and limit the amount of time you spend checking sdn. haha i try to only do it every few days.
 
I can finally join the club. Interview at Baylor on September 23. How did you guys respond in your email? Did you just state that you gratefully accept the interview and see you soon?

did you fax your DAT to the Baylor? If you didn't, fax it ASAP. I am sure you will hear from them.I am telling that because I know my Committee letter will mail tomorrow from UTD( I am in late track package 🙁 )I have not heard from Houston and SA and I hope they are waiting for committee letter :xf: . Baylor keep the records from last years and that is the reason why I heard from them around week ago.

submitted my app to san antonio 2 days ago and they have already sent an email confirmation that they have received it!!!

i submitted it to houston A LONG TIME AGO and just got the confirmation last week.

Oh man I hope so! I faxed them my scores on monday but haven't heard jack! I'm actually kind of nervous about it... I was hoping to hear from Baylor when they sent out their next round of invites...

Dude, congrats! I didn't know you got an interview at Baylor! That's awesome, you didn't interview there last year did you?
