I got my application complete by Houston 8/6 and the interview on 8/7.

I don't know if this is true or not...but from what I have seen and heard, Baylor really likes people who took upper division biology classes. So if you're a biology major, you're in luck =)
A lot of business majors haven't gotten interviews yet, from what I've heard.
 
anyone who submitted in late july (after july 21) but before August get anything yet? Argh, TMDSAS is taking so long to process, hopefully i hear something soon.

also, I took my DAT 7/29 (i think) but never received my scores through the mail yet. How long does this usually take for the scores to be sent home?

hey those of you that also applied out of state, how long did it take each school to reply to you? I havent heard anything from any of my oos.

it probably takes atleast 2-3 weeks. maybe longer since now it's peak time for sending scores and such.

Mine was mailed on 7/31, and so far I've pretty much have gotten emails regarding completed applications from every school. However, no signs of interview offers or rejections.

I've heard back from Baylor and San Antonio---> but no Houston (closest for me) 😕

I guess no one has heard back from all 3 yet. And as far as OOS schools...I've heard nothing.

Yeah that's awesome, I'll see you there! Hey, I'm bringing my wife and it sounds like from the letter that they just provide lunch for us so she'd be on her own, is that right?

Wow, you received your interview invitation the next day. They sent me that email 8/6 too and I have yet to hear from them.

As for OOS schools, I have only received the application complete emails from them.

Actually, it's kind of like buffet-style. Guests can stay for lunch too. =)
 
anyone know why tmdsas processing/sending out scores is so slow this year? I was looking through the 2009 post and everyone seemed to have their application's processed and sent out within 2 weeks of sending in payment. This year it's more like a whole month. Any reason?

*for those of you waiting on oos. I emailed some of my schools, the only school I received a reply from so far is NYU- I'm in the 7th batch, and they are currently working on the 4th batch. I submitted my AADSAS 8/7, so hopefully yall can figure out a timeline based on when you submitted. I just thought it was weird since I never received a "thank you for submitting your application, your file is complete email." according to NYU they have to go through my LOR and some other paperwork before they can review my complete file. hope that helps some of yall!
 
I got the email from Houston that they were reviewing my application on 8/6 and the interview offer on 8/7

Just out of curiosity, how do you know which batch you're in? Mine was mailed 7/31, and I'm trying to figure out the approximate timeline. Thanks!
 
I emailed NYU because I had a problem with my email I listed on my AADSAS. I asked them if they were waiting on something from me and if they received my check since i mailed it when i submitted my AADSAS 8/7. The lady said that my LORs and application which is in the "batch." Since my AADSAS was mailed 8/17. I'd guess yours is in batch 5 or 6 since I remember someone saying something about AADSAS mailing every monday or something. so hopefully you'll be hearing from them soon 🙂
 
I have not heard from SA and Houston. my Committee Packet sent out last Tuesday. I hope it was the case for not hearing from those school. 😕

Doesn't sound like anybody's heard from Houston in awhile.

TMDSAS still hadn't received my DAT scores as of yesterday. They get them before the schools right?

I don't think they have your new scores- it takes a good 2-3 weeks. Im still not sure why it takes so long since the scores are sent electronically. but then again why does everything take a long time. I know houston has been busy with other stuff.

Baylor completed my file on the 25th and I got an interview on the 27th. No word from San Antonio or Houston for me.

I don't know if the numbers are right, but in the ADEA guide it shows only 19 were interviewed for 579 OOS applicants and 9 were enrolled. So I was thinking to myself it looks like about 50% odds for those intereviewed, but then I realized there's a good chance some of these guys may have been accepted and went to another school so it could be even higher. It's encouraging at least.

Those are 2008 stats, but the 2009 stats are 10 enrolled out of 634 OOS applied according to the pre-matriculation report.

Ya, its from the previous year because it's the ADEA guide for this cycle. I have to believe that they probably interview a similar number of OOS applicants from year to year though, which would be very few.

Yeah your chances just got a whole lot better! So is Baylor your top choice?

SA and Houston both received my app around the same time at the very end of July and then I got the interview offers around the beginning of August but I still haven't heard anything from Baylor. No confirmation email or anything.

As of right now, ya. I've only been to a couple schools so far so it's tough to say that as a definite. I liked the school and it seems pretty cheap, I also really like Dallas.

I'm sure I won't know for sure until I see what schools I get into and what the total costs are though. Every book and website I see quotes different numbers for tuition/fees/etc. so I'd like to see those in writing for all the schools I'm applying to.

I'm very curious to see if all the out of staters interview on the same day though. It seems odd for my interview to not be until november, which is what is leading me to believe that it's a designated OOS day.

It's the first week of October. Has anyone recieved interviews from SA or Houston? If so how long after your confirmation email did you recieve the interview invite?

TMDSAS finally forwarded my app on 8/27, and I got an interview offer from Baylor Dental today via email for 10/7. No word of any kind yet from UT Houston or SA.

I'm psyched to have gotten my first interview, but I have physics and histology tests on that day, which I guess I have to move.

Congrats! That's interesting that you got it through email... Everybody else has gotten it via snail mail.
