i did meet your gf monica? i guess i thought you had an interview also. but i think someone said second round is like middle to end of jan.

I was going to apply this cycle, but decided to wait till the next cycle, as I did not want to take the DAT without completing ochem. Well, I guess we will hear back soon. Good luck and I hope you get in (as well as Monica!)

i just had my interview with UTHSCSA this past monday. it was a little intense. but everyone i met was super nice. there was a total of 13 of us being interviewed. i remember someone else getting an interview the same day but for some reason i was under the assumption that person was a girl ,but i never met anyone from UT.

I guess I'm as ready as I'm going to be. I hear it's laid back. My wife and I are actually leaving tomorrow. We're going to visit her grandparents in the Beaumont area and then stay with a friend that's going to law school at UH on Sunday night. When are you leaving? Are you going to bring anyone with you? My wife's going to come to the interview. I wonder if anyone else is going to bring a guest. It felt kind of awkward at the Baylor interview because no one else brought anyone!

And by the way, that football game last night sucked! I honestly believe Texas would have won that game with Colt. Now if the Cowboys loose, I'm really going to be depressed!

Haha, don't kill me, but I was rooting for Alabama! I know, I'm a backstabber. Don't worry, we've destroyed the Eagles twice and I'm pretty sure we'll be able to do it again. Whether we win or lose, though, is going to set my mood for the rest of the week haha, so I'm hoping for a win!

I'm actually bringing my dad with me. I didn't bring a guest to SA or Baylor, but at both of those interviews almost everyone had a guest so I felt like a loner. So don't worry, you won't be the only one with a guest this time around! 🙂 We're leaving Sunday.. I'm just now looking for which hotel I should stay at. I don't want to have to worry about Houston traffic in the morning!
 
Good luck on the interviews on Monday you two. Maybe I'll see you floating by on the tours. Don't sweat the interviews. They are pretty relaxed here. Ask plenty of questions at lunch with the dental students. I have been one of those students before, so I can tell you for certainty that what we talk about there stays inthe room. We aren't there to get a feel for you, so feel free to ask any questions you might have. You won't be penalized as long as it is not a distasteful question. Enjoy your day!

I interviewed on Jan 4th. too... I am dying to know when we will hear something back! Let me know if you hearing something back! 🙂
 
Well, we had the UTDB interview yesterday. I have to say I LOVED the school! Thought my interview went well, the whole thing really was laid back and the students seemed to be really enjoying dental school.

So did I understand correctly that we could possibly hear back from them next week?
 
Had the UTHSCSA interview yesterday and loved the school as well. I also believe that I heard something about how yesterday was SA's last interview batch. Adcom will meet together sometime next week to go over all of the applicants, and then 2nd round goes out the week after.

I also really loved UTDB. We could possibly be hearing back early... which means the admissions committee could be meeting ASAP. I really wanted to send out written letters, but I guess the best option is email?

Anyone with UTDB interview on Feb 1st. I got an email today. I am excited but also wondering what if the class is full by second round. Any advice?

As far as I know Baylor hasn't made any offers since December 1st... =\ lol. I'm just as anxious as you are!

Same for me except I interviewed in September. Hopefully we'll hear something within the next few weeks...

🙁 For the first time EVER I can't point my finger at Romo. Poor thing. It was like watching the Discovery Channel and watching cheetah's prey on a gazelle. Seriously.

anyone know if san antonio sent out 2nd round of acceptances?
 
Not that I know of. Also Baylor isn't sending out any acceptances till April. That is when they will make an alternate list.
 
Well I accepted the offer from UTDB today and sent an email to San Antonio to withdraw my acceptance so hopefully one of you guys will get good news soon. :xf:

I don't know about that. I would assume they would. But as for now it might be April and if Dr Miller decides it may be earlier like end of march.

Anyone know when SA will send out more acceptances? It's still nerve wrecking even though I know my chances are slimmer
 
i too would like to know about sa. I'm in the same situation and it sucks ball22.

I emailed admissions and all they told me is that they do rolling admissions😕

Sounds like it's from Baylor. SA should be sending out a second round very soon.

🙁 Well, hopefully some people are waiting to hear back from San Antonio or Houston and once they do, they'll withdraw their acceptance from Baylor.

Wishful thinking. lol.

I wonder how many acceptances Baylor sent out on Dec. 1st. It blows my mind that they really are full already.

Well TexanGal, you're in better shape than a lot of us. You still have SA's second round to go and I don't think our interview group at Houston was evaluated for that last round. At least I didn't see anyone on predents from our group get an acceptance.

For the past few years, Baylor has claimed that they have not accepted anyone off the waitlist. While the claim appears to be exaggerated, the fact remains that few acceptances come post Dec.

UTHSCSA sent out emails today for acceptances and will be mailing out official letters end of day. My girlfriend did not receive an email 🙁 I asked if they sent the emails out this morning, and the person on the phone said yes. Also, I asked if rejection letters will also be sent out, and the answer given was no.

Goodluck everyone who has not yet checked their email and congrats to everyone who got in!
 
hmm thats odd i remember people saying second round was by mail only...oh well guess i'm SOL 🙁

sooo when's the third round of acceptances so i can get my hopes up again?
 
I'm surprised you didn't get into Baylor with your gpa TexanGal. How were your DATs?

Did you speak with someone who said they have emailed/mailed anything?!!
I just called them and spoke with registrar office, they said that they have mailed some acceptance today, but they did not email anything. They are working to send emails out, but it will most probabbly will be tomorrow.
 
Well, I thought the first round of acceptances was gonna be by snail mail only (and it wasn't) so I don't know?

@ longhornpride, yeah... this process gets old real fast. Especially after December 1st. It's just a crapshoot. Lots and lots of praying and moping. lol.

@txsoonerfan, my average was an 18. I did realllllly bad in the PAT and QR (under 18).
 
I agree with the above statements, this process got old after Dec. 1st! I just wish a few people could all have heard the same thing, I feel like we are all left in the dark!!!
And agree with the plenty of praying part!!! My prayers so far just haven't been answered the way I wanted them to be
 
So did Houston already send out their second round of acceptances or not? and if so, when?
