I have a question fellow Texans.
I am a post bac student now and have a C- in english 1, chem 1, and physics 1.
Are we required to retake these prereqs since tmdsas turns them into letter grades?

No, those are fine.

I could be wrong, and you should probably use due diligence to find out, but I would consider a c- a c.

That's what I would think. A C is a 70 from a 79. A 71 is also a C- which is frustrating.
Were you told this?

Who knows the email contact for ut houston? Need to send an update, thanks.

Hey everyone, UTSD and Baylor got back to me regarding the +/- issue if anyone was worried too.

Dr. Galindo from UTSD said:
"Please contact TMDSAS directly and ask them how they will articulate your PHYSICS course. If it comes in as anything less than a C then the course will have to be retaken. You must have a C or higher in all of your pre-reqs in order to meet the requirements.

I am not sure how TMDSAS will articulate a C- and they may role it down to not passing or they may leave as a C."

So basically, they follow what TMDSAS reports. C- = C so you are good @loyoladental.

Ms. Janet from Baylor said:
"No you would not have to re-take your physics class."

Lol so I'm assuming it is mutual for San Antonio as well. If I recall from a pre-dental meeting, Baylor doesn't care too much about physics.

So I followed up with Baylor to confirm that my file is complete with my secondary and official scores (my name gets messed up a lot in files) so better safe than sorry. Mrs Pledger replied "yes your file is complete" then she sent another reply saying "please be watching for an email from me in the next week or so." Anyone else had this experience? Not sure what to think about that last email.

Really? Nothing comes to mind?

It means you are getting an interview, dude.

Lol obviously that comes to mind. I was just asking if anyone else has had this experience and how they handled it. Who knows it could be a flat out rejection, that there's a red flag, they need me to update something, I don't know how exactly the process works.

I doubt she would be so cruel as to tell you to be on the lookout for your rejection email lol.

Dude, that is way too cruel lol Ms. Janet is a very nice lady and wants nothing more than to help students.

Haha I don't doubt it. Hope it IS good news. I am least confident of my chances at Baylor so that surprised me.

Also, hook 'em! Graduated last May.

Were you in your college's pre-dental society?

Nothing from SA or Houston yet. Baylor interview tomorrow.

Anyone that has gotten an interview from Baylor and needed to reschedule? I received my invite today but I can't make their time given to me! Janet (?) told me that my app would have to go through the process again because they would have to look at my application all over again and fit me for another time and it's not guaranteed a second interview............which I think is absurd..... anyone else had an issue? how was it resolved?

Thats crazy

Baylor really think their **** don't stink.

Edit: thought about this some more. I'd call their bluff. You got an interview this early, that means your stats are good, you will receive another one. I feel it's just what they say to make sure people really try to make it.

Either way Baylor is a pain in the ass.

San Antonio is the same way. If you can't make it to the interview they don't guarantee you will get another one.
