Just curious: When I went to a tour in Baylor. I noticed that almost every student is physically fit. Does Baylor dental pay attention to that factor?
It's probably mainly because those students almost entirely come from Texas colleges which are pretty physically active schools. I know Texas A&M is voted most in shape students in the nation pretty consistently.

I wouldn't do that. there are still many interview days left before December. just be patient. Did you only apply to Baylor? not the other 2?

I didnt get my interview invite for Baylor until November, and they only notify you like a week in advance. Just relax.

Don't worry. Even if you don't hear back till December don't freak. This really is a marathon and not a sprint (or however the saying goes I'm the worst at sayings...). Pick up a new hobby. Go workout? It will happen. Hope you applied to more than just A&M though! I know even they recommend to apply to more than just their school.

For those who interviewed at Houston, do they let you bring your bags with you to keep in their office? Like a carry on luggage?
I didn't ask. I just put my stuff in the trunk. It's paid parking and not in a bad part of town so I didn't worry.
I'm pretty sure they do. They know that some people fly in and have to check out of their hotel before they go to the interview. Where else are you supposed to leave your stuff? Everyone was really nice there too so I don't think they would mind at all.
You'll find yourself with I think 13 other applicants in a conference room. The main table for interviewees is in the middle of the room. There are chairs along the walls to accommodate other guests. I think you can leave your luggage along the walls. I doubt anyone would be crazy enough to steal anything on interview day. At the end of the day, you will return to the conference room. I also think it wouldn't hurt to ask if there could be an alternative safer area to place your luggage. Tip: don't sit at the head of the table.
Like no fans ..Idk what kind of people who worrying about where to put his luggage during the interview rather than worrying about the interview itself.. just to let you know what type of people are getting into dental school.

Like if he has to lug the luggage around all day with him throughout the interview, do you think he would be comfortable and be himself during the interview?
And what if that is the case, he has to worry about the luggage and then doesn't do as well on the interview?
So would worrying about where to put the luggage now and knowing that he doesnt have to carry it around will give him a peace of mind, which then will enhance his interview experience?

Agreed. Some people uber around when they visit other cities for interviews and don't have the luxury of leaving their belongings in their car.

I'm not sure what your problem is. Some people aren't from Houston and don't have cars to keep their luggage. It's very immature to make a comment like that when you don't know what my situation is.

My problem that your concerns is really immatures. Like seriously no matter how important the meeting, they don't mind to bring your luggages in. Have you attend any conference at your school and see people with their luggages?! And of course you don't carry a gigantic luggage with you. Also this forum for Tmdsas serious question at the most sensitive time of the year and your your concerns about luggages is really irrelevant. Last I don't know what kind of future dentist can't find out a way to secure luggages. These are really basic task and it's shameful to bring to this forum that's my problem.. got it ?!

I really hope you're trolling. How is that immature? I personally had never traveled across the country via airplane before (by myself). These were the exact same questions I had a year ago when I was interviewing.

Edit: on a more serious note, just call the school. I had an interview in Maine and talked to the admissions counselor and we made arrangements. If anything, it shows foresight instead of showing up the day of and asking. Even then, they know people are traveling and they know Uber is king, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just call. 🙂

Yeah, I actually decided to check with the hotel I'm staying at and they will let me leave my stuff with them! Thank you for your advice though! 🙂

That's true. The hotel I stay in let me check out when I left in the morning, but hold on to my luggage and said I can come back to pick it up later.
They also let me use a guess room to shower before I depart the hotel to go to the airport

I applied to the three texas schools, but still haven't received an interview from anyone. I was thinking about applying to midwestern arizona as well but I don't know if I'm too late. Really starting to freak out now

It's actually depend on the date that your application received by the school. Also it's random process as I learned so you could possibly receive an invitation at any time. However I believe you have solid stat so no need to be freaking out at this early, you may know that they just started interviewing people. Last it doesn't hurt to apply for out of state school if you are welling to relocate out of Texas. The application reviewing is a fair process so applying late not ruin your chances at all. I would say go head and apply to maximize your chances .. best of luck

Thanks so much! I my application was sent to schools on 8/2, but then I had to fix something in it and they updated it on 8/31. I hope this doesn't put my application "in the back of the line"
I still don't know about out of state, chances of moving are like 50/50, but I might as well apply I guess

I applied to all Texas and by they time they got my new scores it was towards the end of August. I decided to apply to a few OOS. Just recently finished supply app for MWU-AZ and they just reviewed it this week but unfortunately got rejected today. I thought I had a strong application but I guess not!
I'd still say to try for it though! Better to take a chance now because you never know what could happen!

Is it worth it to apply at this point? I didn't apply anywhere this cycle because I thought my stats were too low, but I'm starting to see that there wouldn't be much harm in trying... 3.1 GPA 20AA DAT. It's just 150 bucks so why not right?
If you're a Texas resident, why not.. Better to try than never know!
