TMDSAS, AADSAS, Interfolio, Streamlining LORs

I've searched the forum from top to bottom for this, the AADSAS site, and TMDSAS site. I keep finding contradicting answers.

Applying to dental school through TMDSAS and AADSAS and concerning letters of recommendation submitted through Interfolio:

1. Is the "letter of evaluation" form required for TMDSAS?
2. Do you request the evaluator upload both the LOE form along with their LOR to interfolio? This could be confusing as the LOE form says "mail directly to TMDSAS blah blah".
3. Can you send a request from interfolio to the evaluator with the LOE form attached?

We (predent GF and I) are trying to streamline this process (I'm trying to take some of the burden off her with this research) and are a bit confused by this whole LOR process with both AADSAS and TMDSAS. She already has two professors and a dentist lined up who will write her LORs, it's a matter of making it convenient for them and her.

Those with experience applying through both TMDSAS and AADSAS would be great.

The steps seem to be:

1. Request sent to evaluator from interfolio
2. Evaluator fills out LOE form AND writes a separate LOR
3. Evaluator uploads these to interfolio
4. Student prints out and fills out "matching letters" themselves and uploads them to interfolio
5. Submit LOE form AND LOR to TMDSAS from interfolio
6. Submit LOR to AADSAS from interfolio

What have I missed? We'd like to get the LORs lined up and ready to submit from Interfolio on May 1 and ~June 1st.

Don't make it sound so easy! That would require waiting until TMDSAS and AADSAS open correct?

EDIT: WHOA. Completely forgot I'm attending a TMDSAS presentation at her university tonight... I guess I'll be able to answer my own questions.

So, straight from the mouth of Dr. J. Scott Wright - Executive Director of TMDSAS about an hour ago: If your school provides a committee packet, use that to submit your LORs. It looks strange to schools when this service is offered and the applicant opts to do it independently. (paraphrased)

Also, fun tidbits from the presentation:
- 900 students submitted their TMDSAS app in the last week before the deadline last year in October! Dr. Wright recommends getting it submitted by the end of May.
- Take a decent picture for your app, they have a "Wall of Shame" at TMDSAS with the absurd applicant pictures posted.
- Don't be an dingus on the phone to TMDSAS, they can and do send "unprofessional warnings" to schools about trouble applicants

when you have TMDSAS id , there is an option to msg them, they will guide you better, they reply pretty well & in time, yes, letters from dental office is highly recommended. it is not written anywhere but i know it from many students who accepted through TMDSAS or advanced standing. that is how the admission committee know that how you are interested in dentistry. sorry,the other questions i dont know the answers. there are many other things are counted too. they have list on website related to Medical & Dental both. other thing one can do is visit the each university website and read thoroughly the catalog for (e.g.) School of Dentistry catalog , in that they will write the entire detail for the admission. While on the website, it is possible that some information is not given in detail & you might have questions related to that.

I keep forgetting that TMDSAS opens up in May. I'm an OOS student and might roll the dice but my physics grade should be reported at the end of may 🙁. Wondering if it would make a difference if I wait or not considering its just one class.

They will open in may , will close on october1 only if you are applying for DDS/DMD . so you have time to apply till october1. they start reviewing only after october1. so that way they gather all the data and some time they start reviewing in late december , january to may(of following year) interviews process, for dental field.

Dr. Wright recommended getting the application submitted by the end of May, Spring grades should be posted by then. I would wait so you can send all grades through Spring 14.

Yes, you have until October, but waiting that late is not recommended. Schools will begin reviewing applications and handing out interview invites in August/September.

Wait so you DO need those that write a letter of recommendation to fill out the form? Or is that optional?
