TMDSAS!! Been there done that?

So, just found out that TMDSAS exists. The website has too much info. Too many threads. Just a few questions.

- Do you need to apply ASAP like you do with AMCAS? If yes, then since it opens May 2nd, should I be applying during the first week of May?

- When do I send in my transcripts? It's March 10th now..Is that something I should do through registrar's now, or wait till April..or wait till I get my semester grades?

- I get my MCAT scores June 20th.. Do I wait to get my scores before submitting my application, or is it like AMCAS where you can apply and just send in your score as soon as you get it.

- Any other main differences? I read through the website stuff, but I would really like to know if there's something that needs to be done now, so I am not panicking a month from now? Anything major to worry about?

I know this is lame, and shows me being lazy, but Im really focused on MCAT studying now, and spending hours on researching this is not an option right now.

1) Yes; apply whenever you finish the application and you're happy with it

2) Yes, but they must include all grades from this current academic year

3) You can submit the app without your MCAT scores, but I'm not sure if it'll be processed without them

4) The only other major difference is how you list/describe activities on TMDSAS. You're alloted and infinite number of spots, but you have significantly less space to describe them (I think 300 characters vs. AMCAS' 1300). You'll almost certainly have to rewrite the descriptions if you fill out AMCAS first. Also, TMDSAS is just a piece of crap in general. It's a pain to use and has a horrible interface. Hopefully they improved it for this year's applicants. AMCAS totally blows TMDSAS out of the water.

I am taking the MCAT May 20th and was going to work on TMDSAS after that? Do you think it's better to take time and submit it earlier than that, or can I go ahead and just focus on the MCAT until my exam? Appreciate the response. Love the sig quote.

I wouldn't submit later than mid-July, and that may even be a little late (in my opinion). And you should definitely be working on your personal statement now, as that takes a lot of time to get perfect. If I were you, I would start filling out the application a little at a time whenever you are taking a study break (you don't have to do it all in one sitting) so that way, when you are done with the MCAT, you can submit it quickly

Yes, request as soon as your grades come out. You must have your spring grades on your transcript. From my experience, most schools send out transcripts immediately once you submit a request
