Spoke to some UTSW students who love the school and don’t feel like it’s a competitive culture at all. Personally, I’ll probably rank them number 1.
I’d love to go to Baylor, it’s been my dream since I started this process but a large portion of that dream was BECAUSE they were in Houston. I really want to rank them number 1 but I’ll probably change my mind 50 times before I decide.
I think UTSW is a great program with a great administration though, students seemed happy and not very cutthroat. But the reality is there’s going to be cutthroat people at every school. If you find a group of friends who collaborate you’re pretty much set.

Based on your pros/cons list, it seems like UTSW>Baylor=McGovern>Long
I will say that I didn't get a competitiveness vibe from UTSW at all during their admitted student stuff last year

Is anyone else put off by Baylor sending students randomly to Temple? I have a pre-match from UTSW so I think I will rank them first and just go there. I did look forward to Baylor, however, because of its location in Houston. Idk if ranking Baylor first and taking on the risk of potentially ending up in Temple is worth LOL. What are everyone else's thoughts?

this is the thought process of pretty much everyone I spoke to at the Baylor open house. Though I was at the houston campus so it might be biased.

I personally have UTSW ahead of Baylor at the moment because I am risk averse and not enthusiastic about ending up in Temple. BCM in Houston was my dream school, admittedly but not knowing where I will end up until after I lock in Baylor is a bit disconcerting. I also don't have an offer at Baylor but have one at UTSW so who knows if these thoughts I have matter in the long run.
